Some Possible Panther 2012 Draft Day Scenarios

I know the draft is still 5 months away, but given our current record this season I am personally already looking toward next year and the moves we can possibly make to finally make us into legitimate contenders come 2012. Below I have listed a few senarios that could possibly happen on draft day and really give us a boost. Now keep in mind, I understand some of this would require the stars to align and the football gods to smile down on us, but nonetheless it's still fun to discuss the possiblities. So sit back, relax, read and post what outcome you would like to happen the most.

Scenario 1:

With our current record 2-7 (might as well say 2-8 considering we have the Lions at Ford Field tommorrow.) We are tied with 3 other teams for the 2nd worst record in the league and those other 3 teams are just playing better football than us right now, so with that said I think it's possible we land the 2nd overall pick in the draft. So with the 1st senario, we dont trade back and we draft star WR Justin Blackmon with the 2nd overall pick in the draft. We get a young WR to grow with Cam and be our franchise WR of the future.

Scenario 2:

We still land the 2nd pick in the draft, Matt Barkley's stock rise and a team like the Browns want him bad. We trade the 2nd pick to the browns for both of their 1st rounders, a 2nd and 3rd rounder. Let's assume Browns have the 5th pick in the draft, so with the 5th pick in the 1st round we draft Zach Brown, and with our 2nd 1st round pick we draft Michael Floyd. This is assuming the Falcons have a good season and therefore the Browns 2nd pick in the 1st round would be in the 20s or so and Floyd would still be avaliable. With our two 2nd round picks we take Devon Still and Jared Crick. With Zach Brown, Devon Still, Jared Crick and Michael Floyd all drafted before the start of the 3rd round, any other picks the rest of the draft would be dessert.

Scenario 3:

And last but not least the 3rd scenario. Colts pull a miracle and win 3 games this season, we finish 2-14 and land the 1st pick in the draft. Miami Dolphins want Andrew Luck and want him bad. We strike trade gold with them. They trade us Marshall, Soliai and a 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounder. In the 1st round we draft Zach Brown, in the 2nd round we draft Devon Still and Nate Potter OT from Boise state. Now remember when I said the stars would have to align and the football gods would have to smile upon us? Well this is one of those trade scenarios that seem the least likely to happen for a couple reasons. 1. The Colts are hell bent on losing and landing Luck and 2. If Dolphins keep winning and Matt Moore keeps performing well I don't see them breaking the bank and wanting to land Luck. But it's still fun to dream right?

Anyway, I know their are currently many different sceanrios that could happen on draft day that frankly it would take a novel to discuss all the possibilities. I also know things change come draft day. Draft stocks rise, draft stocks fall, certain players dont declare etc. Feel free to post what you would like to see as the perfect draft day scenario. I know the ultimate scenario would be us winning the super bowl and landing the 32nd overall pick, but im talking about the most likely scenarios for us.
