You Make the Call: Predicting this week's game vs. the Lions!

Well, I really did think the Panthers would take 2 of 3 games on their recent homestand.  The Vikings game just slipped away, and the Titans loss was, shall we say, forgettable.  Picking the good guys has dropped my game pickin to 5-4 on the year.

Last week's fiasco isn't the reason I'm picking the Lions this week.  I've had the Lions circled for a W since before the year began, and have no reason not to pick them to give us loss #8 this Sunday.  Here's why:

1. The Lions are at home.  The young Panthers have not yet won a road game this year.

2. The Lions are mad.  Last week's embarrassing loss to the Bears will have them fired up and ready to beat up on somebody.  The timing for the Panthers to show up at Ford Field could not be worse.

3. The Lions have a better defense than we do.  Our defense is weak.  The Lions' pass rush is growing more fierce now that Nick Fairley has healed up and joined Mr. Suh on the DLine.

4. The Lions are tougher than we are.  Yeah, I said it.  The Panthers have a few tough players on their roster, but not nearly enough.  Coach Rivera is in the process of establishing the Panthers as a tough team.  We aren't there yet.  The Lions are.  They are mean, intimidating and tough.  They will beat the Panthers physically on Sunday.

If they can stay within shouting distance, the Panthers will rush for over 150 yards on Sunday on a fast track and against a weak Lions run defense. It won't be enough. Cam will struggle in a loud stadium against a strong Lions secondary and will turn the ball over twice.  The Lions offense will move the ball at will against a weakened Panthers defense.

Lions 37 Panthers 24

That’s how I see it.  What about you Panthers fans?  How do you see this Sunday’s game?  You make the call,

Let’s hear it!
