PrintIf you are chomping at the bit to see some Panther football after a tortuously long bye week then join us for some pre-game chat.

Injuries: We know LB Jason Phillips is out due to a calf injury. LB James Anderson is questionable..
However, head coach Ron Rivera said today there's "reason for optimism" regarding Anderson's availability against the Titans. Anderson's status will be re-evaluated again Saturday. The injury news wasn't as good for running back Mike Goodson, who is doubtful with a lingering hamstring issue. Also, linebacker Jason Phillips has been ruled out Sunday due to a calf injury.
Otherwise we are good to go. Word is if the Panthers get low on LB's DE Antwan Applewhite would move to DE. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
Keys to Victory for the Panthers:
1 - QB Cam Newton must protect the ball
2 - The defense must limit RB Chris Johnson and his big plays

Dalton really does have an NFL arm though.

He fell to the 2nd round because of his arm. But for what it is worth Drew Brees always gets knocked for his arm as well

The Sad thing is....
I like the guy. I have rooted for him all year its hard not to.
BUT recently the nonsense that certain fan bases, experts, and Cam Haters have been saying has me not only rooting against him but hoping he falls flat on his face so I don’t have to listen to said nonsense anymore.

I have to say...
I wouldn’t mind if the Bengals lost. =) I think Dalton’s a pretty good QB, and I don’t want him to do too poorly (a pick-6 wouldn’t hurt my feelings, though)…
BUT, I want Cam to have a beastly, record-setting day with no turnovers. I want our defense to look competent and come out injury-free, I want STs to look competent, and I want a win. Then Cam will get a better leg-up in the ROY race.

Hey MMA_PITBULL, I was looking back thru the archives to find out who first coined the "Kraken" nickname...
and it appears to have been you back in the summer of 2010. Is that true? If so, you must feel really badass that Hardy’s actually adopted the Kraken into his persona (see fanshot today).

Hardy has written "Kraken" on his nose strip for several weeks now, I believe.

It was PITBULL who first coined the name - I researched this and posted on it a month ago.
At least, that was the first mention of it here. Maybe Hardy used it first, and just told PITBULL about it at their weekly get-together.

From what I can find...we have to give MMA credit.
I can’t find a signature from RJ that’s prior to 10/29/10 that mentions the kraken. That’s not saying it doesn’t exist, but rather my initial search doesn’t come up with anything and I really don’t give enough of a shit to keep looking, lol.

I've never been a fan of Jackson as a pure receiver...
He’s an outstanding return guy, and he definitely has the tools to be a star WR, but just something about his game throws me off; loved Maclin in college, and hope he continues to improve (needs to get some softer hands though sometimes)!

I think that was Felton who dropped the ball both times that game...
I have not been terribly impressed with Felton when it comes to run blocking either, so I don’t see what the harm could be in plugging Hartsock (who is basically an oversized FB anyways) in the backfield sometimes.

Cam Newton was on the Bank of America Stadium field 90 minutes before the game warming up for Sunday’s start against the Titans. The record-setting rookie QB appears to be making all the throws, from the pocket and on the run.

I think the injury report stuff was just super precautionary, since I guess coaches are starting to call teams out more for not putting players on...
I highly doubt Cam has any diminished throwing ability this week

actually if we cut the penalties out Cam can out score most offenses
we just keeping getting destroyed by penalties…. and gap control but Cam can overcome 1 of those in my opinion

i dont expect extremes but i do expect differences. Especially in younger teams like ourselves who just recently have seen a boost in fan base. Cam should lead us to at least one new alternate

When people bring up Dalton is better than Cam non sense, I ask them this simple question.. If you put Andy Dalton on the Panthers and Cam on the Bengals with that defense and easy schedule, in your mind what would you think has a better chance of happening.. Panthers being 0-8 or Bengals being 8-0? I rest my case.
Same argument I used for the draft. If you put Blaine Gabbert as QB for auburn, would the still have won a championship.. I rest my case.
