It's time to pick our weekly Panthers Game Ball winner. I realize sometimes its hard to pick a winner after as loss (in particular to the Bears). It was a valiant effort and though I am getting tired of moral victories I think we have several Panthers worthy of consideration for the Game Ball.
- QB Cam Newton was 27 for 46 with 374 yards, 1 Passing TD, 2 Rushing TDs, INT, 35 yards rushing, QB rating of 83.1...A great stat line that is becoming the norm for young Newton
-
RB DeAngelo Williams had 82 yards on 10 carries for a 8.2 ypc average (Even I can do that math)... It was nice seeing Williams get some daylight.
-
WR Steve Smith had 8 receptions for 181 yards... Smitty took some shots in this game and got up quickly every time (and talking a little smack too I'm sure)
- TE Greg Olsen had 5 catches for 50 yards and a TD...It took a little while to get going but once he did he caught everything thrown his way
- SS Charles Godfrey has 5 tackles, 1 PD and his first INT of the season. On one red zone series he made all three tackles to force a FG try.
- DE Charles Johnson got a sack for the fourth straight game, 2 tackles,1 TFL and 1 QH...a stat line becoming more the norm for Big Money
