I just went through the contract list at RotoWorld, and it looks like it's loaded with NT's and WR's.

This could be the year the Panthers finally get a big NT, with 4 likely to go in the 1st and 2nd rounds of the draft (Alameda Ta'amu, Josh Chapman, Dontari Powe, and Sylvester Williams), and around 7 free agent NT's. Here is a list of the 2012 free agent NT's.

2012 Free Agent NT's (Under 30):

Pat Sims (6-2, 330, age 25) the #3 DT of the Bengals even has some pass rush ability. In 2011 he's started 1 of 6 games, with 15 tackles, 7 solo, and 1 sack. In 2010 he started 8 of 14 games, with 31 tackles, 19 solo, and 2.5 sacks. He also had 36 tackles in 2008, and 34 in 2009.

Paul Soliai (6-4, 355, age 27) is the Franchised player for the Dolphins, so he will likely want more money than the Panthers can afford. In 2011 he's started 5 of 6 games, with 13 tackles, 10 solo. In 2010 he started 14 of 16 games, with 39 tackles, 33 solo, and 2.0 sacks.

Sammie Lee Hill (6-4, 329, age 24) a RFA for the Lions, their #4 DT. In 7 games, with 0 starts, he has 7 tackles, 3 of them solo. In 2010 he played in 15 games, with 0 starts, but 30 tackles, 21 solo, and 2.5 sacks.

3-4 DE Red Bryant (6-4, 323, age 27) has the size to be a NT, but starts at 3-4 DE for the Seahawks. So far in 2011 he's started 6 of 6 games, with 14 tackles, 7 solo, and 0.5 sacks. In 2010 he started all 7 games before he was injured, having 18 tackles, 16 solo, and 1.0 sack.

2012 Free Agent NT's (Over age 30):

Antonio Garay (6-4, 320, age 31) is the Chargers starting NT, and has started all 6 games so far, with 26 tackles, 17 solo, and 1 sack. In 2010 he started 15 of 16 games, with 48 tackles, 37 solo, and 5.5 sacks.

Aubrayo Franklin (6-1, 317, age 31) splits time at 4-3 NT for the Saints, with 3 starts in 7 games, with 9 tackles, 6 solo. In 2010 for the 49ers he had 16 starts, with 39 tackles, 38 solo, he had 36 tackles in 2009, and 46 in 2008.

Shaun Rogers (6-4, 350, age 32) also splits time at 4-3 NT for the Saints, with 3 starts in 7 games, annd 11 tackles, 6 solo. Rogers career peeked in 2008, with 76 tackles, 61 solo, and 4.5 sacks, while his top sack total was 7, in 2007.

If the Panthers decide to sign a Free Agent NT, then I expect it to be 1 of the under 30 players, and Pat Sims might be the best value.

2012 Free Agent DT Pass Rushers:

Amobi Okoye (6-2, 292, age 24) is a backup DT for the Bears, with12 tackles, 8 solo, and 3.0 sacks in 7 games (no starts). In 16 starts with the Texans in 2010 he had 44 tackles, 27 solo, and 3.0 sacks.

DT/DE Jason Jones (6-5, 276, age 25) moved from DT to DE this year for the Titans, and in 5 starts has 7 tackles, 3 solo, and 1 sack. 2010 was his best season, with 15 starts, 39 tackles, 34 solo, and 3.5 sacks. He had 5.5 sacks in 2008, and 4.0 in 2009.
