Sir Pour
Happy Friday Panthers fans! This could be a huge weekend for the Carolina Panthers. With the Falcons on their heels a little and Carolina hungry for another victory, and this could be the week they finally break though.
I picked a smooth drinking, easy to find brew for this week. I hope you enjoy.
Sierra Nevada Tumbler Autumn Ale
The Brewery: Established in Chico, CA in 1980 the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company can be credited as one of the earliest, and most successful craft breweries in the United States. At a time where almost the entire industry was controlled by a few conglomerates it was passionate brewers like Ken Grossman who helped give the United States the vibrant craft beer/ microbrewery landscape we have today. Sierra Nevada, though a small operation really are quite prolific with their Pale Ale being available at most bars across the country.
The Brew: An excellent Autumnal Brown Ale that pairs excellently with foods around this time of year. It's very clean and drinkable, while still being intriguing and very nutty like a lot of brown ales. In terms of readily available craft beers I truly believe the Tumbler could be one of the best. Sits at 5.5% ABV, so this is definitely one you can drink all afternoon.
How it relates to the game: The last few weeks we've been drinking these big, intense, bold brews and the Panthers have struggled. In a lot of ways I think they're taking the rigors of being a young team too personally, especially our rookie QB. This is a good opportunity for the Panthers to step back, relax and be a little more natural; let instincts take over.
Price Point: $6-$8 per six-pack
Where to buy: Most should be able to find this in your local grocery stores. I know in NC it's stocked in Harris Teeter stores around this time of the year, and would expect most grocery stores to carry it.
