he is a FA next year at the chances of him staying in KC would be slim one would think unless they overpay him to stay

Hard to imagine them not Franchise Tagging him
Then the number 1 now would sound good compared to the 2 #1’s it would cost with the tag applied

No, but only because he's a free agent after this season.
I’d take my chances that I could convince him to play with Smitty and Cam.

not for a player who will be a FA after this season

Another great thing Cam has brought to the Panthers... every free agent WR will want to play here now.
But that doesn’t mean they’ll play for cheap. Then, there’s the dreaded Franchise Tags to tie them down. I would be interested in seeing a list of top free agents to be, though. I think I’ll build one when I get the time.
So much to be done, and so few people willing to do it for me.
hopefully we here about to Cam Newton effect during free agency this year…like the Vick effect last year. Cam is putting up elite QB numbers in his infancy he has to be catching the eyes of some free agents. With the steady import of former guys from SD…VJ would be a nice addition and he would hit the ground running already knowing the system

I'd give that a solid NO.
Also, the value of this year’s 1st rounder could be very high with the depth of quality QBs that several teams will covet.
"I may be old but...eh, I forget the rest!"
Doubt they would even do it.
He’s pretty much their passing attack other than that 2nd year TE that keeps getting injured.
Umm...they would jump through the phone to make this deal.
A 1st rounder from a team that’s most likely to pick in the top 12 for a guy who’s going to leave for FA as soon as the season is over? No team would be stupid enough to turn that down.
