Aaron Curry to Raiders for 2 draft picks
Aaron Curry was dealt to the Raiders in exchange for a 2011 pick and a 2012 pick. They're probably mid to late rounders. Panther fans can now cross this option out. A Curry to Panthers trade is no longer possible.

It wouldve been nice to have him but..
Its probally best we didnt trade for him… glad we still have two draft picks
Ahhh damn.
Oh well, woulda been nice but now we can all talk about how his faults were really too great and we get to keep out draft picks :)

I'll be curious to see the picks
can’t be high ones given the raiders don’t have a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round pick this year. I hope this isn’t one of those trades we shoulda been willing to do but didnt (shades of Anquan Boldin for a 3rd and 4th…)

The difference between Boldin and Curry
Curry would be a back up when Thomas Davis gets healthy… Boldin would be a hell of a number 2 wide reciever
there is a huge question mark as to whether or not TD ever plays another snap as a Panther

You must not know much about multiple acl injuries..
They can say that all they want but nobody knows for sure

Yea I know a little bit about them
but i feel if he thinks he can return and the facility clears him then he should be able to
I think he'll be back
But I think they will agree to a restructure to do it. Same deal, pushed one year forward.
They can say that all they want

It's easy to say those things at this point in the process
some athletes don’t come back from 1 ACL injuries. Most don’t come back from their second. I’m not saying TD won’t com back from his third and i gotta believe that if any one can, he will, but the panthers would be downright negligent as an organization if they didn’t work under the assumption that he won’t be back.
I pretty much crossed this out when it didn't happen with 48 hours of the initial rumor.
Frankly, I’d take the guy but I wouldn’t want to give up any compensation. Probably would have traded Jimmy for him straight up but that’s it.

Depends on the picks...
I wouldn’t have traded two picks for him, and knowing the Raiders it was probably a 3rd and a 5th or something like that
agree here
i’m still banging my head every now and then thinking we could have had Anquan Boldin for a 3rd and 4th

Following up on the Aaron Curry trade, the Raiders will give Seahawks a 7th rounder in 2012 & conditional mid-rounder in 2013.
yeah...
i would have done this

i dont think he was worth a mid rounder add a 7th on top of that and no thanks. Hurney finds good value in those middle rounds and honestly we are all just going off assumption of what he could be. Honestly we don’t know. Not worth the risk imo

I don't think I would have...
We’re already giving a 3rd for Olsen, so to lose the 7th too would give us a smaller influx of talent, and less room to swing trades on draft day.
Then you’re looking at losing a mid-rounder in 2013’s also… hard to know what kind of players could be available for trade by then too.
Well curry is young and would be an "influx"
Wed have to get a LB anyways…

I'm not so sure about that
We don’t know about Thomas Davis situation and Jason Williams is playing quite well and Omar Gaither has been good too.
If Davis is able to rehab then there’s no need to get another linebacker in the draft. Might as well wait to make that decision until 2012 rather than make it hastily now

If The Panthers Don't Find An Inside Pass Rusher, They May Have To Draft A Pass Rushing OLB
It might be a crazy idea, but Ted Hendricks (6-7, around 250), “The Mad Stork” played 4-3 OLB for the Colts and Raiders in the 70’s.
If the Panthers can’t find a pass rushing DT, then maybe they will have to consider drafting a pass rushing 4-3 SLB like UNC’s Donte Page-Moss (6-4, 260, 4.67-40), or South Carolina’s Devin Taylor (6-7, 260, 4.71-40).

we need a LB who is good in coverage as well…TD was that guy being a former Safety because TE’s are killing us and we are rather small in the secondary. Big LB who could cover the TE would help..fingers and toes still crossed TD can make a recovery…he needs to go over seas and get some treatment like all these other guys are doing

Gantt
People asked for weeks about Curry. Here’s the deal. SEA called a lot of teams, including Panthers. Carolina, however, was never interested.
He considers Curry just another guy but for what it is worth he also thinks the same about James Anderson…who i personally don’t see as just another guy

he doesn’t hate him but he doesn’t think he is the level of player to be getting paid 4-5 mil a year either. I think Anderson played well last year and with the loss of Beason and TD has more then earned his new contract with the defensive leader role being placed on his shoulders. Is he to best LB in the NFL? No but i think he more then just a serviceable player in this league

Sometimes JA
seems really good to me (last season, key plays last week) and then other times like in the beginning of the season when Beast and TD were on the field (or even just TD and Connor) he seemed to fade in to the background and was definitely not a dominant presence. Some other people on CatScratch told me that he is just generally a slow starter though. Looked great last week, hope he keeps it up our D needs their A game this weekend

So who's the next NC college player for us to drool over now?
Edwards, Austin, Burney, Curry. Probably not, No, No, and No.
Carolina Panthers: When three first round RBs just isn't enough
With the 32nd pick in the 2013 NFL draft, the Carolina Panthers select Marcus Lattimore.
lol
Is he worth two picks
To me, no. Especially throwing in a mid rounder. I think that leaves the Raiders with only three picks next year. Ouch.

That he's getting old.
thought that was pretty evident. What’s yours?

JC, I would've loved to have Curry. But the Raiders makes sense...
Because they think they have something in a team this year, and they think they are going somewhere. Obviously, they feel Curry is just one missing piece that they need to go far this year. As such, they were probably willing to mortgage some of their future. Likely, they gave up far more than we would, especially considering their intentions and aspirations of the playoffs this year. So, retrospectively, I’m happy we didn’t overspend in an attempt to outbid a team like the Raiders. Let them have him. We’ve got a plan for the future, and for success. We’re not going to the playoffs this year, so no reason to mortgage the future for now. Keep the draft picks and load up on talent come April. Smart move Panthers. Would’ve been nice if we could’ve moved teh Jimmeh though…
