It's time to play that yearly game........Free Agency!
So who should the Panthers keep and who should they dump?
Here's my take:
RB DeAngelo Williams: KEEP. There is no reason not to. I shouln't even have to explain this...With J-Stew and D-Will the Panthers have, without a doubt, the best rushing attack in the NFL. They take the pressure off the QB situation and give the Panthers at least one side of a good offense. Give the man his money.
C Ryan Kalil: KEEP. Again, no reason to really explain his one. Pro-Bowler, one of the best centers in the league, and one of only two viable players on the O-Line.
LB Thomas Davis: KEEP. Yes he has been injured, but with Davis, the D is that much better. Plus, I can't see another team really jumping on him.
LB James Anderson: KEEP. With Beason, Davis, and Anderson, the D has a really solid, perhaps very good, linebacking core. All are great tacklers and each brings a different element to the group.
CB Richard Marshall: DUMP. I remember seeing a stat that he has most catches allowed last season. And the needs some sort of a lift in the secondary and his act is getting tired.
QB Matt Moore: KEEP. Give Moore one more. I think he should start next season, not Clausen. He knows how to get the ball to Smitty and has more experience than Jimmy. I know last year wasn't exactly great but he can win 3 games before Clausen can get one. Until we get a sure-fire stud at QB, let Moore lead the offense.
DT Ed Johnson: DUMP. See Hayden, Nick.
TE Jeff King: KEEP. Use as a second option and sign/draft/trade for a better TE. Always finds himself open in the endzone.
TE Dante Rosario: DUMP. Eh
