Panthers Best Play of 1st Half Fan Power Poll

It's been nice having the bye week at the mid point of the season. It's given us bloggers a chance to adequately recap the first half. This post is a review of the best individual plays of the Panthers first 8 games of the 2011 season. We discussed this on CSR Radio last night where three specific plays were nominated. I then reviewed every Panther scoring play I could find to see if there were any other worthy considerations and added a 4th and 5th play to choose from:

So here we go Panther fans flex your collective muscle by selecting your best play:

Play #1: Cam Newton Throws first career TD pass, a 77 yard bomb to a wide open Steve Smith.

Play #2: Against NFC South rival Saints, RB DeAngelo Williams takes the option pitch 69 yards to the house!

Play #3: On 3rd and 9, Cam Newton avoids pressure and jaunts for a team record 25 yards avoiding multiple tacklers along the way

Play #4: On 4th and two from their 40 and protecting a 9-6 lead, LB James Anderson sacks Redskins QB John Beck for a 7 yard loss and huge momentum. The offense then scores a TD and the route is on.

Play #5: Down by 3 with less than 2 minutes to go against the Vikings, on 4th and 14,Newton hits WR Brandon LaFell for a 44 yard game setting the Panthers up for a potentially game tying FG (but it was not to be)

So there you have it, our nominated plays for Best Play of the 1st Half of the Panthers 2011. Take the poll after the jump...
