PrintWe finally get to see some football that counts Panther fans. It may not be our beloved Panthers but we do have a little on the line with this game. A Saints loss is rarely a bad thing for us, in particular a season opener. Another positive is expectation of plenty of offense, something we're not used to in 2010!

I really liked the Saints as a division rival until I had to deal with their fans after wins.
The thing that really drives me up the wall is the people who type out Geaux Saints like it makes any sense. Oh, and they need a new catch phrase BADLY.
Still respect the team though.

It’s a good way to bridge the seasons and honor the last winners. I would say a lot of people watch the first game of the season regardless of the matchup because we’re all so itching to watch any football with real consequences. It’s good to give the superbowl champs that spotlight, I think.

I would take it a little further
Why not start the season with an NFC and AFC Championship game rematch? We have half of it this year, but what better way to kickoff the season with the double header on Thursday rather than Monday night and get the four best teams from the previous year together.

He'll eat good CBs alive too.
Sadly I don’t think we’ll ever have a QB like that – and I’m pretty much Clausen’s biggest fan. At the moment Brees is at his peak and he’s playing at a different level to everyone bar Manning.

Not an all out blitz - but there's no protection in the backfield.
Simply send more rushers than there are blockers – QB is going to audible out of that play pretty quickly. He’s going to get creamed if you keep going to that formation (even if he completes the throw).

Well 'home grown' to me suggests he came out of some sort of academy.
Just because he has ties to the region (born here, went to high school and college here) doesn’t make him ‘home grown’ in my opinion.

very different definitions of home grown. To me home grown is he grew up near home. The Panthers home is in the Carolinas and well he grew up in NC, so to me he is home grown but you’re right in the NFL you cant have a preference to any team that you arent playing for.

I think we are going to see a 30 to 50% increase in holding calls
and it will affect scoring overall as the 10 yd penalty can kill a drive

Those are benefits for sure.
I’m talking more about the tv time outs. I’ve been to the three Wembley games – those tv time outs are infuriating. Obviously you don’t notice them on tv, cos they fill it with adverts/analysis. But at the stadium it’s just awkward.
And obviously I’ve not had the full experience having seen two teams play on neutral ground, but there you go.

I think it was a fluke, if he makes those two he scores 9 pts which is all you can ask from a kicker.

I’ve never seen a QB fire the ball after the ball was snapped consistently as Brees did. It look like he was taking 3 step drops on every down and firing. Maybe he feared relaliation?
