I seriously doubt California Matt really cares. Hell, he may have said give it to my left tackle.

Steve or Matt. That’s the decision that was made. Smitty being one of the longest tenured guys, it makes sense.

You want your captains always on the field.
Smith and Gross have no chance of losing their jobs.

Sure
They are both what, 7 year starters?
While I knew somebody would go there, that point does actually have some credence, unfortunately.

Saying that, it was the players that voted for this.
And not the coaches who may not have the confidence.

If your new on the team or a young guy,
who do you look up to? Who do you want to emulate? I’d vote for Smith over Moore. We do also have a LOT of young guys, they probably spent a lot of their short careers seeing highlight reel catches and monumental numbers from Smith. probably never even heard of Moore before the end of last year.

Matt Moore didn't make the captains list....

That’s a sweet shiner he has there…sucker punched at a bar. I guess not all ND fans like him

This thread is about the captains.

lol
I think the caption on that pic should read
“I missed being drafted in the first round by thisssssss much.”
Unofficial Agent for Armanti Edwards, WR #10, Carolina Panthers
Matt Moore was much closer im sure

and before people rip me i posted the pic as a joke. Im happy with Matt being our starting QB he has earned it. but as far as picking on Clausen for slipping to the second round is foolish considering Moore and Delhomme neither one ever sniffed the draft let alone the 1st round.

MMA,
If you are going to joke, then you have to accept other people’s comments as jokes, too.

Not to tell a grown man how to act
…I would be a hypocrite to do too much of that after being a jackass to Neil yesterday about something similar.

I took it as a joke...
and that is a great picture for a caption contest….the ‘penis’ reference is way too easy though.
caption contest... sounds intriguing

I agree
One question though…if T. Davis was healthy, does he get the ‘C’ before Brayton?

I don't believe so
It seems the Panthers like having a LB and DL as their captains. If it was based on Panther seniority alone Chris Gamble was a more obvious choice than Brayton, so I think they want a DL specifically.

I still don't get it
No love for Chris Gamble?
Fourth and inches is the distance between obscurity and immortality.
very few corners are captains
I think its because they are isolated away from everyone else. They can’t really communicate with anyone pre-snap. Gamble is a really quite guy, too, if that makes any difference.
