Jamie Dukes: "The Giants get a fifth preseason game."
Jamie Dukes, who forced us to suffer through that faux-ESPN 'Put Up Your Dukes' crap a couple of years back on NFL Network, has been much less of an ugly television personality lately. He's tended to have smart commentary recently; that doesn't mean I agree with him here, though.
I think it's pretty obvious that Carolina's got a lot of questions on offense, and that's fair point of criticism. Our pre-season malaise has led to this recent spike of otherwise knowledgable folks predicting doom and gloom for Carolina.
I hope the Giants read that press and believe it. If there's one thing John Fox's teams have always been able to do, it's to out-physical every team they face. They'll do it again Sunday, too. I really do believe that. I'm not sure we'll win, but I know our guys will hit them in the mouth, and that always gives you a good chance to pull something out.

he talks about the offense struggling
while having two 1st rd running backs being and still being “inept”…Well if he had actually watched some of the games, he would have seen that Stewart never saw the field and DeAngelo got a very minimal amount of carries. They only ran 38% of the plays regardless of who was in there. He talks about the pro-bowl o-line, yet we’re missing one of the three main pieces to that line. I guess he doesn’t care that Matt was missing his best receiver (one of the best in the league) and the most experienced receiver he had on the field in preseason had one career touchdown. Also they’re quick to use those last place offensive preseason stats in their argument, but conveniently forget to mention the being first in defensive stats. If they want to judge the team based on those stats, the Jets were able to drag Sanchez’ sorry ass to the AFC championship game with a great defense and a pretty “inept” offense. So even by that line of thinking, we still look alright.

Yeah, I don't think preseason is really indicative of anything...
Jake threw for several hundred yards, zero touchdowns, zero interceptions last preseason. We all know how that turned out. Preseason has never been a fair indicator of how a team performs when the live bullets are flying.

How the hell does the QB position get the blame?
Our offensive line hasn’t blocked worth a damn for the entire preseason. I don’t recall a single play where the QB had any time to work with. Dukes is clueless in his assessment of our offense. I doubt he even watched any tape on us before making those comments. He probably just looked at the box score and made his decision based on that. We’ll show him on Sunday when we light up the scoreboard on his beloved G-Men.

Here's what I think about Dukes' analysis...

"If you ask Jets' CB Darrelle Revis, there is no one who is harder to cover one-on-one than Steve Smith. That has to mean something coming from last year's runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year."

Yep. That there's one fat steamer, probably morning after hot wings and fries.
Where there’s a will… I want to be in it.
Panthers are going to make a lot of “experts” look dumb as hell when they go into the new Giant Stadium and lay a beat down just like they did to close out the old one
