For the second season in a row, our beloved Panthers have an 0-3 record. It pains me to see how bad we've looked lately and how bummed the fan base is. For the past three weeks we've seen horrible play calling, beyond horrible execution of those play calls and little cause for hope. But yesterday on the second half open thread of the Panthers vs. Bengals game, we as a fan base started attacking each other plain and simple. Insulting each others comments in frustration of what we were seeing in our team. The worst it ever got to was when fans started saying that they would leave to another team. Wishing our team had an illustrious history...
Well let me make a call of Hope to all my Panther Brethren. This is a lot to be proud of about our Carolina Panthers!!!
In 1995 when the Panthers came into the league I saw them as MY team. A team with no history, a clean slate to start off with. A team I as a 7 yr. old saw with much hope and promise. And the Panthers didn't disappoint by reaching the NFC Championship game in only their second season of existence. Though we lost that game to the Packers I, as a fan, grew eternally attached to my Carolina Panthers. The next time we would reach greatness was our 2003 season, and that is a season that will forever live on in my heart. The Cardiac Cats, as we had been deemed, had made it to the super bowl. Everyone on CSR knows how that season ended, but we had many great games left to play. Two more times we made the playoffs, a Championship game appearance and a divisional round appearance as the second seed in the NFC. I've loved every season that I've tuned in to watch my Carolina Panthers. And I'd like all the Panthers fans who believe that we have nothing to look back upon for the history of the our Carolina Panthers to remember these good times we've shared as fans. We got to the super bowl in only our first ten years in the league. That's definitely something to be proud of and i sure am. We're just barely starting to build our history as a franchise and I'll stick around until the day that I die. And for all the Panther "fans" that say they almost want to go to another team...Go right on ahead. This sight will definitely be better off without the lot of you.
It just pains me as a fan of this great team to see the fan base so distraught and so quick to anger. We have to stick together as a fan base and always have faith in our team-even if we do sometimes yell at the tv on Sunday-the faith must always be there. Always be grateful for the many awesome years we've had to watch our Carolina Panthers, and be glad we as a fan base don't have it worse i.e. Lions, Browns, Redskins etc. I guess that's the end of my rant, but remember my Panther brethren that no matter what happens I will always Bleed Panther black and blue, and so should you.
