One of the arguments you hear against a Bill Cowher replacing John Fox is it would be a major transition from the current 4-3 to a 3-4 scheme. Based on this past draft, I can see our defensive personnel fitting the 3-4 quite well
I can see Brayton and Charles Johnson being 3-4 ends, with Hardy, Brown, and Norwood capable of playing either DE or OLB, who can rush the passer. With Beason and Connor in the middle, you would have 2 beasts. And Davis could play inside or outside LB and go sideline to sideline. The biggest gap would be a stud NG (Landri and Leonard for now?) and top draft pick or FA for a better fit.
For the record, I am not giving up on this season after only two games, and I like John Fox and would not be unhappy at all if his contract was renewed along with Meeks and the 4-3.
But with the addition of players from the last draft, and the development of others like Connor, I don't think the transition would be that difficult, and may even better unleash our young talent.
What do you think CSR bros?
