Hello CSR community!
It's time to talk fantasy football and prepare for the coming season. SB Nation, CSR's parent company, has entered into a partnership with CBSSports.com to create official fantasy leagues for our NFL blogs. This is a little different than previous years, we are using CBSSports.com Fantasy Football Commissioner, which is a paid service, but offers a ton of great features that go beyond the free leagues. It's understandable if some people want to remain in free leagues, but if you want to get in on some good fantasy action with other CSR members, and help this site out by participating in the promotion, follow the instructions after the jump.
CBSSports.com is offering us a 50% discount on our leagues, meaning each league we create will cost $90. A league will consist of 10 teams, so the cost of to participate comes out to a measly $10 each. (PayPal deducts a little on each transaction so we need to cover that). That's not too bad, is it? Here's how it will work, I'll create the first league and be the commissioner, and the first 9 other people who send their $10 to a soon to be revealed Pay Pal account will be put into that league. After that one is full, I'll batch the next 10 together for the second league, the next 10 for the third league, and so on. If you simply would prefer to buy a league yourself and fill it that is okay as well. All leagues purchased through CSR will be eligible for our grand prize. The winner will be the league champion that scores the most points for sanctioned leagues using the prescribed scoring system.
So what can you win? Well there is the honor of being named CSR FFL champ which will be posted in the left sidebar for the coming season. You can't put a price on that. For those of you that are a little more materialistic there is a CSR t-shirt of your choice through the CSR store. So for $10 bucks you can support the site, use the best FFL platform there is and maybe win some bragging rights and CSR schwag.
If you are interested in playing simply put a comment in this thread indicating your interest, either as a single player for $10 or want a league to your own, $90. I'll email you the info from there.
Why use a paid league when others are free? Well, for one you'll be supporting SB Nation and CSR, and we are very appreciative of that. Also, CBSSports.com Fantasy Football Commissioner has some cool features.
- Customization of entire league...rules, scores, teams +more
- Multiple draft options including auction drafts
- Ability to manage your league and team on your mobile phone
- Expert and user generated analysis
- Live chat/league instant messenger
- Fast and incredibly accurate live scoring
- Archived historic league data for future seasons
- See more here
Anybody who wants to join in, please just let me know with a comment. I know you can play fantasy for free at plenty of places, but if you want to help us out a little at CSR, want to play with other community members, and experience a great fantasy football product, consider joining a league.
Thanks!
