For those of you who have expressed an interest in Armanti Edwards, but only as a possible 7th rounder or an undrafted FA I hate to tell you but if things keep going the way they are he will be long gone. Even CBS Sportsline (which has been the most pessimistic about him, saying from the beginning he is only a WR prospect and ranking him 7-FA now has him as a 5th and climbing. In addition to the 9 teams at the Pro Day here in Boone, including the Panthers, just in the past week 6 more teams in addition to those have now scheduled private workouts. Most of these teams did not attend the Pro Day but are going on word of mouth. And all of the teams but one (JAX) are working him as both QB and WR. He is getting better and showing more confidence with both positions at every workout. As much as I want to see him as a Panther so I can keep watching him as I have for 4 years, I don’t see him dropping to the Panthers in the 7th. Too bad since I think we need someone other than DWill to run the wildcat and I think Armanti can fill up three different positions with one roster spot.
