Bears fan here. I read through a bunch of the posts related to the recent trade and I think there is a need to let you all know that there are many Bears fans who believe you may have gotten the better end of this deal.

I understand that Chris Harris is a fan favorite and it's a shame to lose a club house leader. Moreover, Jamar Williams is a relative unknown.
But let's look at the facts:
It seems that your coaches want a different set of skills at the safety position and Chris doesn't possess those skills.
Chris has become an injury risk over the last two seasons.
Jamar Williams has been stuck behind perennial pro-bowler Lance Briggs since he got here. He is a WILL backer and has been developed exclusively to play that position.
Everyone who follows and covers the Bears closely has been talking about his untapped potential and finally, this year, when Biggs went down, he was given a chance to play. And he shined. 20 tackles in one game.
He's fast. He can tackle. He has studied behind two of the premier linebackers in the league.
Lastly, he's a great character guy. Despite the fact that he has been stuck behind Briggs, he never complains, he is a total team player, unselfish and pretty intelligent.
I think you're going to be VERY happy with Jamar Williams and I fear that we have given up a great prospect who we invested a lot of time to develop. I just hope Chris still has it in him to be a major contributor to the Bears and that (God forbid) Briggs doesn't go down because we just gave up an excellent football player.
Here's a good interview with him:
Good luck Panther fans.
