There has been no Panther news lately. NONE.  At all.  And that sucks!  It's boring, and to keep myself from going crazy, I've just been looking at potential draft prospects.  Today, I was looking at one of my favorite prospects, Jason Worilds, DE out of VT.  In a previous post/mock draft, I have the Panthers taking him in round 3.  It turns out that I was on to something, because the Panthers seem to have interest in this guy, and the similarities to him and Everette Brown are eerie...

Going through Youtube videos of him and other prospects, I found Worilds' pro day video.  It's pretty impressive.  The guy is jacked and explosively fast.  He does sprints, cone drills, suicides, football drills, and then works out with a Defensive line coach.  Paying closer attention to this D-line coach reveals that the coach has on a sweatshirt and hat with a Panthers logo.... Looks to be none other than D-Line coach Brian Baker!  Take a look for yourself:

The similarities with Everette Brown are eerie.  Worilds, like Brown, looks to be a tweener prospect, both jacked and fast.  Both are about 6'2'' 255-260lbs  And at both pro days, the Panthers are there scouting.  Look at these FSU pro day pics from last year, and notice the guy in the black shirt with the Panthers logo.  In the video, you see Worilds working out with a Panther coach!  Prior to the draft, a lot of people were saying "no way Everette plays DE, he's too small", and now they are saying the exact same thing about Worilds!  Now, Worilds, like Everette was, is behind a handful of DE prospects on the boards (D Morgan, JPP, Everson Griffen, and Dunlap) and he's also behind a couple of 3-4LB prospects (Kindle, Sapp, and Hughes).  Everette was in the same situation behind DE and LB prospects (Orakpo, Tyson Jackson, Aaron Maybin, Robert Ayers, Connor Barwin, and Larry English).  The result of last year??  Everette falls because of those DE/LB prospects ahead of him, and we make a move to snatch him because we are enamored with him.  Don't be surprised if the same thing happens again this year...
