Panthers Bargain Basement Alert: Javon Walker Says he Will Make Team Lucky

Recently Javon Walker has said that he will play for the league minimum in 2010, and that he's going to give some lucky team a very productive year. This is that typical Muhsin Muhammad type WR that often is referenced as what we want along with Steve Smith. Also this guy has good size at 6' 3" 215 and speed(or at least used too). Thats the positives.

Negatives include recent loss of productivity and maybe some attitude. To those I give these arguments.
First I think after being dropped and he himself saying he will have to play for the league minimum lend that his head is probably in the right place. He needs a job and he knows he needs to produce to get and keep it. Plus signing a league min contract and seeing how it works is not to risky for the Panthers, as opposed to trying signing Brandon Marshall for big bucks and having a head case.

Second is his loss of productivity. I see his team situations as the problem here and think that maybe he could return to his glory days or at least close. The quarterbacks his productive years were with ones that could throw deep and accurately, Brett Farve and Jay Cutler. Follow by a bad year with Cutler and then the swamp in Oakland. To that I say this, even Randy Moss was slowed by the bog that is the Raiders and look at what he's done since he left. Raiders quarterbacks simply make good WR's look bad.

I think the Panthers should go for it. Its a very low risk situation. I think Matt Moore is like the other quarterbacks Walker's succeeded with, and he is smart with the ball.

What do you think about Javon Walker being a Panther? Does he still got what it takes?
