Breaking Rumor: Panthers Breaking Up Double Trouble

Stay connected for news and updates

There's a rumor floating around the Panthers are in negotiations with an as-yet named team that would involve trading one of their premier RB's for a top 10 pick in this years draft. Which team is still unknown but the theory is the Panthers want to get ahead of the Jaguars. When asked about the viability of this rumor Panthers coach John Fox was his usual cryptic  self:

Fox: It's simple, we want Tim Tebow. You can't get more leadership from the QB position and since we don't have Jake anymore we need leadership. Besides, Tebow has the most funkiest throwing motion since Bernie "Funky motion' Kosar and we know Kosar almost made the Super Bowl. Tebow brings that funkiness we are missing. Oh, and he cries like a man, like Jake.

When asked about how he could break-up the best RB tandem in the league Fox winced:

Fox: I'll give you two good reasons. One, it's just not fair to the rest of the NFL for us to have the two best RB's in the league. The Big Cat is willing to take for one the league by trading one of these players, kind of like he does putting the NFL logo in the middle of the field. B, we cannot risk those two singing karaoke together again. It's bad for the NFL on both counts.

Asked if there were any other surprises in store for the draft Fox said:

I might wear a tie.
