Around SBN: MLB Trade Deadline: Where each team stands right now

According to Armanti's journal, the Carolina Panthers have been showing the most interest of all the NFL teams in obtaining his services.

Straight from the Journal:

"The combine went pretty good. My interviews went well and I threw the ball pretty good.

Right now the only private workout is with Carolina. I have a rescheduled workout with the Colts and Dolphins because they can’t make it to my pro day. The Panthers workout will be on March 18th. All of these workouts will be held in school. The Panthers have been showing a good amount of interest more than any team."

May not need to draft him.

He’s projected 7th rd – FA

You know how we love UDFA QB

Thanks James.

I’ll start looking for specials in anticipation.

Scran, he is projected all over the place, as high as 4th rounds and as low as UDFA.

My money is that he is drafted, 6th round.

Since I really don’t know much about him, I won’t argue with you.

Steal in the 6th or 7th round, and makes a ton of sense.

Moore/veteran/Edwards/Cantwell (PS)

Seems great to me!

I’m not sold on him in the 4th round though

Indeed

He would make sense with one of our compensatory picks.

HAHAHA!

Had to read it twice to understand. Then I laughed incredibly hard at both the comment and the fact that it took me a minute to get it.

if we can somehow get him and thad lewis

i would be so happy.

another guy i was thinking we should look at is D Thomas. im not trying to start another wide receiver discussion im just surprised no one has talked about him. hes big, strong, fast, and a very physical receiver. he played at Georgia Tech which he a run first offence (sound farmiliar) where if you can’t block you can’t play. the only knocks on him is his injury (people have recovered from worse) and his poor route running (can be learned). ya we need a burner but we might already have that in dexter jackson.

i've been preaching his name for about a month now

i will be jealous of whatever team gets him come draft time

I wonder if he likes our uniforms best too.

Do or do not. There is no try.

Good Luck Edwards!!

I'd love it.

Maybe Meeks got Davidson some new cologne for Christmas and it’s got him feeling dangerous, he’s ready to live life on the edge and take his play-calling to a whole new level.

I would be extremely pumped if we acquired armanti

by MikeTrain on Mar 10, 2010 12:21 AM EST reply actions

He is a very humble and well spoken athlete, has pure championship pedigree (led app st to 3 straight titles AND an upset of #5 Michigan at the Big House), and is a leader. Would be great to have him and dexter

by MikeTrain on Mar 10, 2010 12:23 AM EST up reply actions

I'd love to get this guy

Even if he doesn’t work out at QB, he could play WR.

Jake Delhomme, QB Carolina Panthers, 2003-2009.

120 TDs+16000+ passing yards=Good

89 INT's+27 lost fumbles=Bad

Most comeback wins since 2003=Priceless

Just so you know...

MikeTrain: While I in no way want to diminish how incredible Armanti is, I just wanted to clarify that he only led App St. to two championships. He did not play for ASU when the first championship was won in 2005. Everything else you said about him is absolutely true!

Thanks for the clarification
