If we get vick

if we get vick we would have a dogfighter playing for the cats coached by a fox, but thats ok he would replace a horse breeder that runs like a chicken and throws like a woman... come on over vick lets see what you got. we should keep matt as back up. goodbye peppers we wont miss your hot one game not next if were not winning why should i try way you have or should i say had for our team. let the bears try to get him to play every game insted of one or twice a year. by the way beason he is the best lb in the nfl.

good points but.......

Matt Moore is a better Qb then Vick IMO. I wouldnt mind having him as a backup though. Beason is over shadowed by Willis being picked higher in the draft. but i do believe he in the best. Honestly i just wish we would’ve gotten some compensation out of peppers. I’ve been a longtime fan of Charles Johnson and his work ethics.

Vick has been an intriguing athlete...

But, just from the few times I saw him play this year, he hasn’t proven enough to me to be considered a legit starting QB. (My opinion, of course.) I’d take Moore over Vick in any contest at this point. Moore knows Davidson’s system. And the kid seems to have a cool head and keeps out of bad situations. And I think his teammates and the coaching staff believe in him now more than ever since Delhomme was released(I’m still a bit shocked!). Vick in Carolina = Waste of space and money. We have our QB, we just need a solid target that can compliment Smitty! Yay!

Matt Moore Is our best option

When Vick was in his prime in Atlanta, they held the number 1 rushing offence. That would have been a scary tandem with our backs and Vick at his prime. Now we would have to give up compensation to acquire Vick, when we could just draft a player with similar attributes, while still getting production in other aspects of the game. (Return game) Matt Moore will not get the respect from these so called media experts untill he has a full season under his belt.

vick can run!!

does not matter if he can throw the ball. we only have 1 WR . who is trying to beat a double team all the time. at least vick can run around and give smith some time to get open. with a mobile qb the defense has to watch for the run more.

The way I see it is that if we got Vick every time he attempted to run would be a wasted play where D-Will or Stewart should have had the ball in their hands.

Also, are we sure Vick can run anymore? 4.0 ypc last season with Philly.

Did we forget about the draft? Maybe FA?

I’d hate to think we’d enter another season with only Smith.

by D-Ranged1 on Mar 7, 2010 2:45 PM EST up reply actions

He could run, but that's the problem

One of the problems with the Panthers of late is the lack of a multi-dimensional offense. We run the ball and that’s it. If we pick up a running QB, you drag the team even further into that one-dimensional play. If the other team stops the run, we’re done. If they get a lead, we’re done.

Do you see why I’m against getting Vick? Balance is the key to winning football games. Look what the Saints did last year. Before last year, they would only throw the ball. Well, last season, they started running the ball more (a lot more in fact). That balance helped them win quite a few more games.

Why are we still talking about Vick???

This is supposed to be a Panthers’ board. If and when he ever becomes one, then let’s talk about him. He never will.

Yeah I scratch my head when I see rumblings for guys with baggage like Vick, TO, Brandon Marshall, etc. If the last 8 years have taught us anything its that we are never going to go after guys like that.

Its not like some of these guys aren’t good players, it just not going to happen. After Rae Rae Jerry just doesn’t want to run the risk of dragging the franchise through the mud again. How many teams have had a guy convicted of murder while on the active roster? If that doesn’t make you toughen up the background checks I’m not sure what will.

Not trying to bust your balls, but its just an unrealistic concept to think ownership and the front office even consider kicking the tires.

Do or do not. There is no try.

Didn’t the Eagles just give him his 1.5 Bonus?

he wouldn’t fit into our offense anyways, run before throw.. nah, he got fat and slow in jail, he’s not what he was

But if we did get him.. I could see him getting punched in the face by smitty

Yes he is getting the roster bonus

and his salary for this year is $5.3M. He won’t get better than that anywhere else. Why is he out talking about going to other teams? Philly should be pissed…

+1 on that

He should have answered the fine journalistic minds at the well established, and respected ‘Gangsta Grillza Radio Show’ as follows:

Host: Where do you want to play?

Vick: I am a Philadephia Eagle, the team that brought me into the league. I want to play where I’m wanted and can be used and Philadephia wanted me

Host: Cool… so, what do you think of their colors?

You mean Vick should put his team in front of himself?

Surely you just sir.

He'd say "Oi!" to the punks
and "Oi!" to the skins
but "Oi!" to the world and everybody wins.
