Hoover, who is a pretty sharp guy, said it appears to him as if the Panthers are “putting themselves in a good opportunity for failure." Hoover took the high road the rest of the interview, but he might have had a point when he said the offseason moves have taken a lot of leadership away from the Panthers.

Here's my 2 cents on the subject. I think we still have our defensive leader in Jon Beason and offensively I think Steve Smith can take the role Jake Delhomme had. What do you guys think? Is Hoover right? Have we lost our leaders?
