Kevin Curtis could be the next Ricky Proehl for the Panthers and is available!
Kevin Curtis is now available and could provide similar historical contributions as Ricky Proehl in the slot. I believe if he passes a physical, our FO should go after him. In his rookie season, he was one the fastest players on the field. This could be a big opportunity to provide us with some breathing room on our depth chart as well as a veteran presence. What do you guys think? OK..OK..maybe he does need a hair-cut..but otherwise he seems like perfect fit.

I like Curtis alot, he's very productive when he manages to get on the field.
He’s been injury plagued the last two seasons (pre-season sports hernia in 2008; had a knee scoped last summer and wasn’t active until real late in the 2009 season.)
If he could just get healthy, I agree, he would be a great addition….. and probably at a bargain price..
I wouldn't them bringing him into camp to see if he is healthy
I blog the Carolina Panthers at www.catscratchreader.com
No thanks
I did think about it for bit first, but I do no believe to be a good fit. We do not need a health concern. We need someone who will provide some consistency on 3rd down and also a deep threat. Now we may get that out of 2 different guys, but my point is Curtis does not really fit either of those. There are other vets I would rather have who were also “one of the fastest on the field in there rookie year.”
Will Parker
I think a vet is out of the question at this point
Not too many good options left. I think we’ll draft one or two rookies to play receiver, a higher round pick like a second or third, then a later round pick. Example, Mardy Gilyard and Marcus Easley.
Jake Delhomme, QB Carolina Panthers, 2003-2009.
120 TDs+16000+ passing yards=Good
89 INT's+27 lost fumbles=Bad
Most comeback wins since 2003=Priceless
WP...Like Torry Holt..That would be a great sign..Right?
Didn’t you create a post supporting us signing Torry Holt…What’s so consistent about him? He hasn’t even been a deep threat since 2005.
Wrong
Holt had some moments until 2008. 07 was the bobbling deep ball I believe.

It actually was '05 that he started falling off in terms of his big-play ability.
He was under 17 catches of 20+ yards for the first time since he was a rookie, and under three catches of 40+ for the first time ever.

05 definitely started the decline
But he could make plays deep until 2008. He just completely fell off that season.

I'm concerned that the Eagles thought Jason Avant and Hank Baskett were better choices.

This.
As long as the Panthers don't trade for Michael Vick or draft Tim Tebow, my sanity (what's left of it, at least) will remain intact for 2010.
