Did I just say T.O?
Before I get do-not-want dog pics all over the post, here's my reason.
It seems like no team's really out to get him right now, so what do think about T.O if we gave him something close to veteran minimum? I'm not saying he should be the 2nd option either, but I think after the draft, we could really have a good depth at WR (assuming we grab a WR).
T.O's no longer the deep threat he once was, but he still bring some good size and athleticism, and I think would be a good addition to the team. No one's really out to get him at this point, and I think with the right price, he could really be a bargain.

NOOOOOO
the fact is TO likes to lay blame on QBs when he doesn’t perform well…and Matt Moore doesn’t need this kind of bullshit his first year as a starter…

This
and haven’t you noticed the Panthers are cutting all the veterans over 30 yrs old?
TO is 37.
No way we get TO unless he is still looking for a team in July
and will play for cheap. But I bet he would retire before doing that…unless he wants to win a SB.

No, you didn't just say T.O.
Like SP pointed out in the comment above mine, the biggest problem with Team Obliterator (as Skip Bayless calls him) is that he will throw the QB under the bus when he’s not getting the ball enough. He did it to Jeff Garcia (he even called him out as being gay in the press), Donovan McNabb, and Tony Romo. He didn’t do much of it last year in Buffalo, but I would still say that he’s gonna throw Moore under the bus if things aren’t going his way. Some players just have too much bad history to be trusted.
Plus, Smitty will enforce the rules & regulations with a punch to the eye if things get too chippy, and we really don’t need that.
And, I think James pointed it out in another post, but Moose is only a year older than T.O. and is a much better blocker – I’d rather just bring Moose back than get involved in the T.O. circus.
As long as the Panthers don't trade for Michael Vick, sign Derek Anderson, or draft Tim Tebow; my sanity (what's left of it, at least) will remain intact for 2010.
I understand what you guys are saying
But I haven’t heard any T.O. drama when he was with the Bills. I think he’s matured (as in realizing that he’s no longer the playmaker he used to be) and he would still be a good pickup. Plus, I am asking would you want him at the veteran minimum. Basically, if he becomes a problem, it would not be a loss for us to dump him.
Like I said earlier, if he add him, then it’ll be for WR depth. I’m not saying he should replace Moose. But I think T.O. can still help us spread out our passing game. Whether we’re playing 4 WR or 5, I think T.O. can still take pressure off of guys like Smitty or Jarrett.
Is there another reason you wouldn’t take T.O. for a veteran minimum (aside from his locker room behavior)?
His pass catching ability has declined over the years
Which is the reason why Dallas let him go, well that along with the locker room problems.
He drops too many passes now.
If it were the T.O. of 4 years ago, then yes. But the 2010 T.O. – I think I would graciously decline.

Where the heck is Weinke?
Jake Delhomme, QB Carolina Panthers, 2003-2009.
120 TDs+16000+ passing yards=Good
89 INT's+27 lost fumbles=Bad
Most comeback wins since 2003=Priceless
I'd rather bring Moose back
if we need an aged possession receiver that can block
