Why the Defense will be better than you think right now
More than ever, there's no doubt who the Captain of the defense is, and it's fair to say that in 2010, it belongs to him.
We're in good hands.

Between Chris and Jon
I feel better already.
Boycott losing in 2011!
If God came down on Christmas Day
I know exactly what He'd say
He'd say "Oi!" to the punks
and "Oi!" to the skins
but "Oi!" to the world and everybody wins.

Beason is an amazing class act, if you've ever heard him on WFNZ it's articles like this which are just the tip of the iceberg.
When Miami played FSU earlier in the season Beason paid to take Everette Brown down to the game and sit front row with him. When he was asked why Beason said two things:
1. I wanted to be able to rub it in when the Canes manhandled the ‘Noles
2. I wanted to get the opportunity to get to know Everette and talk to him about the Panthers’ defense.
Beason wasn’t required to do this… but he did it for the betterment of the team. He’s a guy who since the day he was drafted wanted to be a leader.
One of the most frequent questions I get asked is “Which player’s jersey should I buy, I want one that will last me a long time”
I always simply respond “52- Jon Beason, hands down. He’ll retire a Panther”
Thanks for putting the link up Cyberjag.

That’s exactly why I went with a Beason jersey.
I agree, 100%
But a #89 jersey isn’t a bad choice either.

This man
I love this guy and I never wanna see him in another uniform other than panthers’. I’ve been debating lately what jersey I’ll get next, Beason or Stewart, I’m going Beason
+1
I’ve been debating for a while now which jersey I was going to buy. Now, I know it’s going to be a #52 Beason jersey.
As long as the Panthers don't trade for Michael Vick, sign Derek Anderson, or draft Tim Tebow; my sanity (what's left of it, at least) will remain intact for 2010.
I have a thought...
I know a while back there was discussion about making t-shirts for our blog here.
A) What ever came of that? Have we missed the boat, or is that still open?
B) If so, I have an idea for a shirt…
If you read the Beason article, he says this:
So as a veteran leader of this team heading into the 2010 season, what do I do? One, I trust in the organization and the coaching staff that they are making the best decisions for the team, and two, come to work with my hard hat on, ready to work to be better than ever before.
My idea is: why don’t we get a shirt that says “Put your hard hat on” on the front, and “Beast Mode” with the #52 on the back (like a jersey)?
Just a thought…

Jon, you are truly a class act, and are good people-through and through
This guy never ceases to amaze me. He is lightyears ahead of most other 25 year old football players on and off the field. Can I trade my Peppers jersey for a Beason jersey. Its a large…any takers? JK.
One thing he said got me thinking:
“More than anything, next season should be special in terms of all the new faces that will be in front of me. The coaches are going to find guys who want to win and compete, and once they do that, then it’s up to us to be exceptional and special.”
This could mean that he expects management to go out and “find” some more new guys to put in front of him.
I remember last year, after Maake went down, he came out and said that he needs some beef in front of him to keep centers and guards off of him. Then we traded for Leonard and Tyler. Judging from the quote above, he may not be sold on those two, or on some of the depth behind Johnson and Brown.
If anyone would know whether we need to find some help on the d-line, it would be Jon. I can’t wait to see what happens.
Beast=Panther for life!
Do or do not. There is no try.
I agree with Jon Beason.
Why not us?
That’s a good question.

Munnerlyn?
Pretty sure he’s the Captain of the defense :).
Why'd the Mets, of all teams, have to draft John Maine!?!?
lol
They should name him a Captain and before each game the crowd can scream ‘Captain my Captain!’
