Around SBN: Dana White: Carlos Condit Accepts Rematch With Nick Diaz

I realize I'm just adding to the jinx but...
Gilyard, Joe Reedy writes, improved his 40-time from 4.56 to 4.47 and made a few nice grabs. Tony Pike, on the other hand, "struggled early with a couple of his passes sailing high" and there "were also a couple times when he wasn’t on the same page as his receivers". He would eventually settle down.

Still wanting LaFell however.

I would still prefer to have B. Lafell and then select in round 3 or 4 a Jacob ford or A. Roberts or A. Edwards as a return specialist and slot receiver. I would be very, very, very happy with Gilyard my only concern is can he be a legitmate #2 receiver opposite smitty or are we just letting numbers cloud or clear and better judgement.

Either way our first pick in the second round needs to be a WR unless something changes such as a trade up or down, etc…

The Bengals appear very interested in Gilyard

they have two picks before our first pick…but if they take him then certainly one of the other two WR’s will be there. Maybe LaFell or Benn (who is dropping since the combine). I would rather have a spped guy then a big WR like Benn though and his faults sound eerily similar to Jarrett’s problems, route running.

On a side note, Kemo signed with the Deadskins today

Was their 1st FA signing I think

Quite a risk to sign him before the injury heals

but it is the Redskins

incentives

most of his contract is based on incentives though which is a pretty smart move by the redskins. that way if he isn’t healed and is a bust up there, they won’t owe him much.

On another side note

One Jet’s fan says Wright is a great special teamer, but will likely never develop into anything more.

Good stuff...I can see why this is a guy we signed

Need a gunner across from Wesley

Wesley is UFA

Would love to have them out there together though. Special teams were a huge part of our 08’ success. It’ll be huge to get Moore on a short field, and this younger defense on a long field.
