@ChrisHarrisNFL 's Pick to Win Super Bowl XLIV Is...

Super-bowl-44_medium

Lots of folks are asking me who I think will win the Super Bowl.  Well, here's my pick...

Star-divide

I'd like to pull for the Saints, but I can't.  So I'm gonna have to go with the ColtsPeyton Manning is about to play in his second Super Bowl in about 4/5 years, so the big-game experience he's going to bring to the field just might be all he's going to need to trump the Saints.

Obviously, I can't be too big of a Manning fan, because he beat ME and my Bears when he got his first ring.  Buuuuuuut, that's a whole 'nother story... :-(

Your right.

Manning is a Future HOF and he will show it Sunday. Is Manning hard to read as a QB in person? Was watching the replay of Ind v. Chi SB and the bears almost had him but Manning pulled it out w/ help from the defense of course.

"I'd like to pull for the Saints, but I can't."

My sentiment exactly… I can not, nor will I ever pull for a rival of the Carolina Panthers.

I think the Colts will win . . .

but I will be rooting for the Saints. Reasons:
1. underdog
2. all the city has been through (Katrina)
3. the SB winner always gets ravaged by free agency, thus helping the Panthers next season.

At least that is how I see it. :-)

As for #3

The superbowl loser gets ravaged too… make no mistake about it.

We should know all about that see Witherspoon, Will

i miss him

he was so damn good for us. I we would bring him back. I saw he got traded to the eagles for a relatively low price this past season. He is certainly athletic enough to move to the SLB in place of Diggs. Diggs is solid but he is definitely getting slower and older. I feel like Witherspoon would no doubt give us the best linebacking corps in the league.

I’m just immensely sick of anything and everything ‘who dat’

by EyeSack on Feb 6, 2010 9:57 PM EST reply actions

+1

agreed…who dat might be the most annoying phrase I’ve ever heard. especially for a whole freaking season.

by SouthernPanther on Feb 6, 2010 10:42 PM EST up reply actions

Mmmmmm

I’m rooting for the Saints, I’m a big NFC South guy, and although some of the Saints fans are annoying as heck, most of those are idiot teenagers, guys my age. :D My prediction is Saints by three.

A side note, Chris, how did it feel to pick off possibly the greatest QB ever on the greatest stage ever? :D Proof it can be done.

I'm still going with the Saints upset

based on the fact they have the better defense

and I would add the saints have somewhat more of a running game but that doesn’t seem to matter with these two teams

by EyeSack on Feb 7, 2010 10:35 AM EST up reply actions

Really?

The Colts opponents are avg 10pts/gm in the playoffs while the Saints opp are avg 22 pts/gm.

True...but if you consider the whole body of work

and the fact Freeney will be limited…

freeney

if freeney doesn’t play, that might be the difference in the game and it may give the saints the win. when the pressure was on, brees threw a few picks and had some turnovers. but if he has time to throw, he’s just as good as manning, and the saints have a better running game. remember when TD got hurt, and then the saints started running to where davis played? that was the major difference when we lost to them earlier in the year. the same might happen if freeney is gone.

Hopefully..

Peyton will teach them how to properly spell the word “that”.

Spelling “dat” is about as cool as wearing pants around ones knees. We’re not 13 anymore.
(And to those who are, who properly spell ‘that’ and can run without fear of losing their clothing, I applaud you.)

So the crowd is expected to be 4 to 1 Saints fans to Colts fans

That will be a huge advantage for the Saints I think

How about the wind being around 20 and whipping around.. I know that affects kicking but how about passing?

by EyeSack on Feb 7, 2010 2:21 PM EST reply actions

That might keep the score down

The Saints having a running game.

The Colts still don’t, but that’s never stopped them before. Go Saints!

Jaxon. Read all your comments! You should be doing commentary on TV.

You were exactly right on all counts. How is the “experts” weren’t even in the ballpark and you nail it? Pretty cool. Thanks
