Free agent prize peppered with potential pitfalls
Well, we've already seen one of Peppers' former competitors (Ross Tucker) call him out for his lack of competitiveness and effort. Now the Boston Globe has done an article detailing similar claims with even more quotes from former teammates as well as scouts, one of whom suggests that signing Peppers to a big-money deal could "end up costing some personnel guy his job." The same scout fears that "if you pay this guy, I don’t think you’ll see a double-digit sack [season] again the rest of his career." Interesting commentary for a player worshiped here by people who have been fans of his for years, some since even high school.
