All I can say is "WOW." We just got back from Aruba and it was absolutely beautiful, gorgeous, wonderful, amazing, etc. - I can't come up with enough adjectives to describe how great that country is!
As I mentioned in a previous post, my fiance, Kenetria, and I are getting married out there in Aruba on June 27th, so we wanted to take some time during this trip to get a little bit of planning done. We want our big day to be as special as possible not only for ourselves, but for our friends and family who are going to join us. But I'll tell ya... we didn't allow ourselves to work too hard, because with the temperature being roughly 80-85 degrees each day, we had to embrace every moment of it for some rest and relaxation before the trip was complete.
Every morning we woke up to the peaceful sight of palm trees, the pool, and Aruba's gorgeous ocean - you simply can't beat that kind of wake up call. When we weren't lounging around in the sun, we made sure to check out everything Aruba has to offer: we did some shopping, walked about a thousand miles on the beach, perused downtown, and ate at a couple really nice restaurants. Just telling you about everything we did makes me wanna get back out there asap!
The realities of our normal lives set in very quickly as our plane hovered over Charlotte and we saw two to three inches of snow on the ground. I swear to ya that Kenetria and I tried to bottle up some of that great Aruba weather to bring back to all of you, but customs stopped us and said we couldn't take it with us. Sucks. huh?
Before this trip, I wasn't aware of just--how--BEAUTIFUL a country Aruba really is -- and when I say "beautiful," I mean it was that way both inside and out. Not only was it visually stunning, but the people there are just about as nice as can be. Their license plates actually say "One Happy Island," and I promise you those thin pieces of metal speak the truth. Our days there were so great that we might even make another trip over there before our wedding. And if any of you have some free time coming up, I highly recommend that you, too, round up some loved ones to head out that way.
