Good afternoon Panther faithful!
As the Carolina Panthers head to the fine state of Washington I wanted to pick a brew that doesn't really embody the city they're traveling to, but rather the state of the team itself. Regardless of the trials and tribulations that 1-10 has given us there's no doubt the Panthers have shown an abundance of heart.
So, this week's brew is...
Bell's Two Hearted Ale
The Brewery: Bell's brewery was featured during the 2010 preseason back when we had hope and confidence. Bell's Brewery are one of the larger microbrewers in the US. Based out of Kalamazoo, MI they specialize in clean flavors and a selection of excellent ales.
The Brew: This one is HOPPY (you have been warned). Seriously, the IBUs (International Bitterness Unit) of this ale and through the roof; but if you like strong, bitter, syrupy IPAs this beer is absolute heaven, honestly one of my top 3 favorite beers ever. This brew is an absolute treat for hop hounds, but it will make you pucker so it may not be your style.
How it relates to the game: Two Hearted is uncompromising, unrelenting and has enough stoutness to last a lifetime. The Panthers have never given up this season and keep on fighting in spite of a terrible record.
Where to buy: Available in grocery stores across the Carolinas.
Price Point: $8-$11 per 6-pack.
