This weeks Vicks Who Powered Through Injury report looks to some recent stars to power through their respective injuries and illnesses. The biggest question mark is how will FB Tony Fiammetta be replaced? We got the answer earlier today when FB Rashawn Jackson was promoted from the practice squad:

Carolina signed fullback Rashawn Jackson from its practice squad, but the rookie from Virginia is not the only option at fullback. Panthers coach John Fox said any of the team's tight ends also could line up there, as they have at times throughout the season.

DE Tyler Brayton is expected to miss the game and it has nothing to do with his sideline forearm to a wayward Falcon. I'm happy it will get Greg Hardy on the field for more snaps.

CB Chris Gamble will miss his 3rd straight game. 2nd year CB Captain Munnerlyn has made Gambles absence bearable to say the least.

With the weather report predicting snow flurries and mid-20's on the thermometer in Pittsburgh tomorrow night RB Mike Goodson and WR Armanti Edwards better get over their illnesses soon. Goodson will need to focus on ball security as well with the cold expected to numb the extremities.

Didn't we pick up Jackson this off season?

If I remember rightly he was actually better than Fia in the pre-season.

yea, but I remember reading that people were surprised he was undrafted

there were some good scouting reports on him…just FB being soooo unglamorous unless you’ve got rathman like receiving abilities

I know what is ailing Armanti

He is SICK OF NOT BEING ON THE FIELD.

Was just looking at the PS addition taking jackson's spot...

DT whose 6’ 4" 328….certainly has the physical specs down, am kinda intrigued; but that’s just my fanboy optimism hoping we stumble upon another diamond in the rough lol

I thought Sutton was the #2 Fullback

I know he is a RB, but didn’t they use him at the FB last season? Seems more logical to go with a guy who is playing his natural position in Jackson, but it’s also worth mentioning that Sutton can fill in as well. Also, Rosario has filled in at the FB spot a few times. I think the FB position is pretty well covered.

Dear Santa, please bring me a winning team next year!

They might not want to risk him

Since DWill is down, why risk Sutton the way our luck has been going this year — just in case.

Sutton's still hurt I believe?

Regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing what Jackson can do, Fiametta has proven himself replaceable this year.

I think I saw Sutton on special teams last week against the Cardinals…so I’m guessing he’s better.

Rashawn Jackson is a beast in his own right

Like the QB position I think he’s the kind of guy we should keep around just in case Fia can’t become more consistent.

dont see why not

he was good at UVA, his strengths seem to be suited to what we ask of our FB’s and well…rashawn only need look at brad hoover’s first start on MNF 10 years ago to see what one good game can do for ya :) (I’m NOT predicting that he’s going to run for 140 yards lol)

Excited

I’m excited about this one and wondering if we can see another decent game from the Panthers.

Plus my dad’s a Steelers fan so this one is always a good one for the family.

Let’s go boys!
