To Clinch #1

Week 15 was nearly perfect.  When analyzing SoS relative to the Bengals, every game played thus far went the Panthers' way.  Had the Bengals lost we could have still clinch SoS against them by tonight.

The reason Week 15 was only nearly perfect is that Denver won.  We cannot catch Denver on SoS due to the fact we both play the NFC West and more specifically  the Cardinals

I had not really considered Denver before as a threat as they have had 3 wins for a while.

Adding Denver’s possible SoS wins remaining (23) to their current number of 116 gets you 139 wins.  Our best case scenario would be 139 wins.  An Arizona win next week would be required for Denver to get to 139 and that same win would put our best case scenario to 140.  Therefore Denver already owns the tie breaker with the Panthers.

That leaves us with the following ways to clinch:

#1.  Panthers lose their remaining two games;

#2.   Denver win, Panthers loss to Pitt, and any one of the relevant wins below; or

#3.  Denver win, Panters loss to Atl, and any three of the relevant wins below.

The teams that would need to win in the remaining relevant games would be:

Tonight:  Vikings

Week 16:  Cowboys, Jets, Dolphins, Colts, Packers

Week 17:  Packers, Colts, Redskins, Chargers

Bottom line, if we want another win and the first pick: GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
