"minor scope to clean some things out" my ass....

Might as well, Hurney knows this season is over so why rush Davis or Otah back, just rest em for next year….

I’m sorry, liver.

by me. on Nov 9, 2010 5:21 PM EST reply actions

What's the point now?

Everything I was looking forward to is gone. There wasn’t much, but what there was, is over with. Otah and Davis are on IR – I was looking forward to their returns. Connor is on IR – possibly the best looking part of this abomination-of-a-team was the LB play, and now that’s in the fucking toilet. Just put Smitty, DeAngelo and Stew on IR and preserve them for next season, when we’ll go 2-14 (and that’s pushing it). At least sign Trent Guy. C’mon. Somehow, Buffalo is in a better position than us, and have a worse record. They just have a more complete feel to their team, or offense, rather. This season is done. Put Armanti at QB or get the fuck out, Fox. I don’t give a shit what you’ve done in the past – that has no bearing on this steaming pile of shit of a “PROFESSIONAL” football team. I’m done with this. I’m not going to go out in town strolling down the damn street in my Panthers gear, in fear that I’ll spontaneously combust and eventually explode and die on the street in a Carolina Panthers T-shirt. Nobody will report my death. My rotting body will just decompose in the middle of the street with little kids walking by with their parents laughing at my body, saying “Hey, mommy! He’s a Panthers fan!” Maybe I should try to find the bright side in all of this, we should get most of out good guys back and have some good picks. Oh, wait. Who the fuck would resign with this team?

by Ol' Uncle Munnerlyn on Nov 9, 2010 5:31 PM EST reply actions

Oh, wait. Who would resign with this team?

Why don’t we ask the 02 team that question? Better yet, how about the Lions of this year, who attracted Kyle Van den Bosch(sp?)?

That last paragraph had me rolling, good stuff

Last year I asked a co-worker who he was going for… “long time Browns fan.” I replied “I’m sorry.” He walked up to me on Monday, put his hand on my shoulder, and dropped a “I’m sorry.” All in good fun, but damn do I hate being that team.

Andre Brown could be good for us...

…he looked good at times in New York (Giants), and was a good running back at NC State…he’s young, hasn’t been used a whole lot (still has plenty of tread on the tires), and is similar (if memory serves correctly) in running style to Stewart or Sutton…quick enough, but strong enough to go between the tackles.

Hodge & J. Williams

Two interesting moves by Cats are that we picked up a couple of decent LB’s with good upside. J. Williams is fast but undersized so he is perfect for R. Meeks Tampa 2 system. Hodge was learning the system and is a former 3rd round pick by Green Bay so who knows.

I still don’t think signing two RB’s was necessary. Unless more roster moves are coming regarding an IR to either D-Will or J. Stew which I pray is not the case.

by Holty_Panthers_Fan on Nov 9, 2010 9:25 PM EST up reply actions

Williams isn't undersized

He is 244 pounds, bigger than all of our other LBs by a few pounds.

by RjTheMetalhead on Nov 9, 2010 9:59 PM EST up reply actions

Sorry

Guess I got the numbers mixed up for Williams still doesn’t matter fox will never let him see the field anyways. I can see it now a starting LB core this Sunday as follows.

Anderson / Beason / Senn

Typical of Fox so typical. LOL ! I promise you that is the starting LB core and you know why b.c. Fox will play anyone he feels loyal to. I wish that Williams starts or heck see what you have in E.Norwood. At this point what could it hurt Fox oh yeah I forgot what do you care .

Panthers.com has an interesting depth chart atm with Nic Harris taking over the weakside for Beason.

So...... What kind of DC are we looking at here for RB?!

Mike Goodson/Josh Vaughn/Andre Brown?

I think this proves you can never have too many running backs.

Well when you suck why rush starter caliber talent back

If the year was not entitled a “Rebuilding year” from the get go it is now official. Interesting to me that we place OTAH on IR and don’t replace him with a OLineman. A. Brown and J. Vaughn ? Why not sign S. Murphy or CJ Davis or D. Santucci from PS squad ? Panthers must be expecting to be without D-Will, J-Stew, and lastly T. Sutton this weekend. Bucs are gonna kill this team LOL this Sunday. Heck Browns and Bills would kill us at this point.

Again I just look to sky and wonder what is running through John Fox’s head oh yeah he has made it clear through various comments to the media lately that he doesn’t care. No longer being a part of personnel decisions. LOL this team is gonna tank in the second half, Panthers were not willing to sign anyone, and no there is no one to sign. I promise you in three weeks when UFL season is over look for J. Mclown (McCown) to be resigned by the franchise and I hate to say it but over what we have in rookies that are not ready that would be a welcomed upgrade.

A. Brown could be decent but Vaughn is nothing more than a special teamer and third string running back. Should have signed one or the other and not both. Goodson cannot start b/c he cannot run between the tackles. Knowing Fox it is gonna be a starting depth chart of RB’s as follows:

Goodson, Vaughn, Brown

Where as it should be

Brown, Vaughn, Goodson – (Simple fact is goodson is a key kickoff return man, and if he gets hurt then Pugh our top backup safety gets hurt then we are really gonna be hurting at two spots and I don’t view M. Hudson as a backup Safety sorry folks)

I guess Fox and Company were not that impressed with K. Null QB formerly of the Rams today in workouts.

by Holty_Panthers_Fan on Nov 9, 2010 9:21 PM EST reply actions

Let's see now...

That makes 2 Browns, to go with 4 Williams, 2 Johnsons, a Jackson, 2 Davises, a Thomas, a Harris, a Baker, a Smith, an Edwards, and an Anderson.

We are assembling a fairly anonymous team here. Are we trying to hide from the authorities?

Are we...

The only team in the NFL that actually has to use the “other” spot on the depth chart?

WTF!?!?!

Otah’s now on IR. Gee, thanks for the update Fox. You POS! You stuff the fat man (who’s injury prone) on IR and do what?

Sign 2 RB’s and an LB. You did this why? J Stew’s out this week, ok I get that. Can’t play after a concussion… Apparently, DLo is out too… and Goodson? What about him? And Sutton?

Here’s a question… why sign RB’s when there’s NO RUN GAME??? Huh? Answer me that. Apparently, Otah was 60% of the run game and Hoover and Moose were the other 40%…

You haven’t done diddly squat to the Oline other than bench one slacker…

Thanks for the season you lame duck. Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out… Oh, and BTW, don’t bother blaming it on Hurney. (Remember? He was the one that went out last season when Kemo went down and there was no run defense and got some tackles and a fat guy to stuff the run…)

It’s not Hurney. It’s YOU.

They had to have a RB

They have to carry 3 RBs on the game day roster, to make sure we have someone to play the position in case we get in a situation like we did against the Saints. You can’t go into a game with 1 or 2 RBs healthy — it’s asking for disaster.

Haha...

I just got the picture of a scene from Family Guy

Lois takes Meg to buy clothes and while she’s changing, a store clerk walks up and asks if they need anything. Meg walks out of the dressing room and asks “How’s this look?” to which the clerk responds by screaming, dousing herself in gasoline, and lighting herself on fire.

I realize that, but still. The Oline’s ineffective and there’s nothing being done about it… not even promoting from the practice squad. It sure gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling that they’ll be going 1-15.

by scorpion12 on Nov 10, 2010 8:09 AM EST reply actions

what good will promoting

practice squad players do? They are on the practice squad because they aren’t as good/ready as the guys already on the roster or are still developing.

There is rational anger and irrational anger, making random changes for the sake of change is not rational.

by adamwanderer on Nov 10, 2010 8:45 AM EST up reply actions

After the season so far, I’d say the coaching staff isn’t rational either.

There’s a chance (I know it’s slim) that there’s a gem on the practice squad and all they want is the chance to step up…

Nevermind… now that I think about it, demoting a starter (whether they suck or not and in our case they all do) would provide a chance for another team to snatch them up. We don’t want that.

Oh well, maybe the best course of action IS to sit on our thumbs and do nothing.
