SI's top 10 Offensive Lineman Prospects
The Panthers' offensive line has laid an egg this season. Once considered a strength of the team, it now appears that its time to call in the cavalry.

This gets me so excited for the Combine
I loved watching the Combine last year (it was the first year I’d ever watched it). It’s great to see all of these prospects competing back-to-back to prove themselves, and it makes it easier for viewers/fans to see what’s out there.
Whatever our first non-QB pick is, I think it has to be a good, versatile O-lineman. Preferably a large, muscular, fast one who can play any position on the line, AND can protect against the pass rush and can block for our RBs
I don’t ask for much, do I? =)
o-line is ridiculously weak this year
none truly worth 1st round
I don't know that it's that bad...
But none of these guys warrant a top 10-12 pick, IMO.
In 2005, Steve Smith became the first player since Washington Redskins' receiver Art Monk in 1984 to lead the NFL in receptions for a team that ran more often than it passed. In Steve Smith we trust.
John Moffitt
- on the list… looks like a guy we might want to consider targeting…
Moffitt rebounded well this season after struggling with a pectoral injury throughout his junior campaign. He’s displayed great power as a run blocker this season and has been consistent all year. Moffitt also effectively handled the center position at times during his Wisconsin career, versatility that will enhance his draft value. 3rd Round Prospect
It would be really great to have a guy who can be both an OG and backup center, especially considering the snap problems we were seeing with the 2nd team OL in the preseason (which we now know is partially Clausen’s fault).

err... that should be 8 on the list.

Who is that huge mofo that went to Miami?
I think he was the top rated player at any position coming out of HS. What’s his name? Henderson? That guy has a year or two before he can come out, but he looks like the real deal.

Here he is. This guy is going to be a top 5 pick in a couple years barring injury or idiocy...

Idiocy is more likely
First time I’ve ever seen an offensive lineman be such a diva about where he is going to college.
Physically though… good god almighty.

Did he pull up to his signing day in a limo (wink, wink)?
I do remember that everyone wanted him…probably fed the beast a little.

yeah, I mean I remember being 18.
If I were the biggest recruit in the country and could choose my college at will, I’d probably make a big fiasco out of it too.

I want.
"'Only problem I have with Armanti is knowing he would have been there 2-3 rounds later.' to which Darin Gantt replies 'Wouldn't have been 1 full round later.'"
Yup...potentially Tony Munoz type dominance there, IMO.
Seen a few Canes games, it is man amongst boys to the 25th power.

Talk about "Blind Side"
That guy’s big enough to block out the sun.
Yeah
Imagine him at LT, with Otah at RT…You would have to run a country mile on a speed rush trying to get to our QB.

Rec'd your very informative post.
We should refer to it come draft week.
