Panthers Week 12 Injury Report

The Vicks Injury Report looks a little better this week Panther fans. Though we have just as many players on the list the prognosis is much better for several key players. Returning to action this week is QB Jimmy Clausen, RB Jonathan Stewart and WR Brandon LaFell. It also looks like QBs Tony Pike and Brian St. Pierre will be available in spite of initial concerns about their throwing shoulders.

Here's a look at the Panthers week 12 injury report:

Name Position Injury Wed. Thu. Fri. Game Status
Clausen, Jimmy QB Concussion FP FP FP Probable
Hudson, Marcus S Ankle DNP DNP DNP Doubtful
LaFell, Brandon WR Concussion FP
FP FP Probable
Munnerlyn, Captain CB Shoulder DNP DNP FP Probable
Pike, Tony QB Shoulder LP LP LP Probable
Pugh, Jordan S Hamstring DNP DNP DNP Doubtful
St. Pierre, Brian QB Rt Shoulder LP LP LP Probable
Stewart, Jonathan RB Concussion FP FP FP Probable
Sutton, Tyrell RB Ankle DNP DNP DNP Out
Wharton, Travelle G Toe DNP DNP DNP Out

more after the jump...

Star-divide

Key offensive lineman Travelle Wharton remains out with turf toe. That means another start for MacKenzie Bernadeau at LG, who didn't play too bad last week. LG seems to be his best position. Actually the offensive line overall had a pretty good game stat-wise. Also missing will be special teams ace Marcus Hudson and back-up RB

Powering through the pain this week is:

QB Jimmy Clausen - The kid gets the start and a fresh opportunity to prove he's the Panthers QB of the future

CB Captain Munnerlyn - Sat out a couple practices but was a full participant Friday. He will be needed to cover the slot and WR Josh Cribbs

WR Brandon LaFell - Hoping to pick up where he left off

QB Brian St. Pierre - It's been almost comical this week with BSP talking about his soreness after throwing more passes in 10 days than he did all year. Shows just how handcuffed the Panthers personnel department has been this season.

RB Jonathan Stewart - I'm looking for a big game from this guy who has barely gotten past 'go' in 2010.

The Panthers did not add anyone to Injured Reserve this week so no update in that regards.

Oi... forgot all about that. Thanks for the reminder. I working on the right chemical compound...

so I can remember the good things and forget all the bad. I do believe I’ve over-engineered a bit, undoubtedly due to this nightmare of a season. Hmmm… more bourbon should do the trick :-P

I was thinking that I was drinking too much....so I quit thinking

Panthers facbook status said that Armanti is questionable with a sore back…

Uh, question here: how in the hell does the guy have a sore back? He has done nothing all year? Is fox now making shit up to keep him from ever seeing the field now or something?

He still works out and practices.

Someone asked that question to Gantt.. I like his answer...
“Maybe he was trying to crawl under Fox’s expectations of him. RT @AppState08 How did Armanti hurt his back?”

"'Only problem I have with Armanti is knowing he would have been there 2-3 rounds later.' to which Darin Gantt replies 'Wouldn't have been 1 full round later.'"

Oh, Gantt.

That’s hilarious. Gantt does have a very special way of stating a lot of things. =) (Although if Edwards has hurt is back, I’m not happy about that.)

I don’t know if Fox really even knows what Edwards can do. He managed to say in his last presser that Edwards was improving. But when asked about Goodson’s performance at RB, Fox admitted that he didn’t know what Goodson was capable of doing.

So apparently Fox’s expectations aren’t the best measuring sticks of capability.

Fox on young players..

“Well, the guys run around a lot. I mean, they’re kinda quick. Some of these guys can almost run the entire length of the field in the same amount of time it takes Big Jeffy D to down a dozen Krispy Kreme. If you haven’t seen it, that’s pretty darn impressive. They practice pretty well too, and that one Armani guy catches every ball thrown his way, I kind of like him. I got some of his cologne for Christmas last year. I haven’t worn it yet but, you know, it is what it is.”

On why he likes his veterans…
“They remember how I like my coffee of a morning.”

As an App State Legend

living in Charlotte, I am sure he has plenty of opportunities for back-breaking extra curricular activities.

Guess we could say that about a lot of players, eh?

Badly, at that.

Probably sat down on the bench too hard and tweaked it.
