The Most Epic Redskins/Sports Rant You Will Ever Hear In Your Life
DC Sports Talk host Chad Dukes goes on the most epic rant you will ever hear in your bloody life. Props to Jason B for posting it on the Eagles blog, and props to MyFriendCory for posting a link on the comment section on the Panthers blog to help get this around the blogs a bit more. We all watched the game last night. We saw the Skins get beaten, we marveled about Mike Vick. But this guy, I don't know what to say. He epitomizes what the city of red feels right now in the most amazing rant you will ever hear in your life. Listen and enjoy folks. It's hard not feel his pain.

True, but how many years were you guys the gutter cleaners of the south? From about 02-06 or so, the Panthers, sucs, and falcons were normally the ones vying for the NFC South title. Now it could be the saints, sucs and falcons for the next few years to come…
Member of Canes Country and the Cat Scratch Reader
Wow. Seriously? Our Panthers are 1-8 and he is bitching about his 4-5 redskins? SERIOUSLY? Bet you when they win nexy week against whoever they are playing, it will be “oh we kick ass”.
Get a life dude.

I don’t know Ivan… Panthers fas feel betrayed by their owner this year, imagine if you have to feel that way for a decade AND pay some of the highest prices in the NFL

Yep.
My family is all Redskins fans I heard rants like this daily when I lived at home. Their organization is getting pretty dysfunctional now with how they are handling things. I think what drove them over the edge was that they finally hired a GM with winning experience and they’re still getting embarrassed.

It’s true, I don’t know about the prices they pay. I know our prices are pretty fair and generally have a decent team on the field. I just hope that we are not going into a massive decline for the next few years because of this season.
Perhaps I should say, I hope I don’t turn into this guy.
Member of Canes Country and the Cat Scratch Reader
Usually around $100 for nosebleeds at the beginning of the year
but the prices go down thanks to Stubhub. Parking costs another $40, food is overpriced and getting there is a nightmare because there’s only one road that leads out of the stadium. I haven’t been to a game there in a couple years though. Snyder keeps adding new “renovations” to jack up the prices and add more seats to the stadium.
I hate the Redskins but I won’t argue that they are some of the most passionate fans I’ve ever met/had to deal with. There were signs protesting Cerrato, Zorn and Snyder on the goddamn Beltway last year. That’s how serious they are.

They definitely have a legacy. Any team, no matter how old it is can have very, VERY passionate fans. Nobody likes to see their team lose, and since I have never had to endure long winning season droughts, I won’t know that kind of agony…
I hope I won’t have to.
Member of Canes Country and the Cat Scratch Reader
I dunno...
If Carolina went on a decade streak of mismanagement and failed seasons, do you honestly think there would be many Carolina fans left? Yes, people like us would definitely stick around, but the average Carolina fan wouldn’t. We’re a fickle bunch, sad as it is, here in Carolina. It’s the same mentality over at UNC where people leave the game at halftime.
If we had to endure a 10 year streak of losses with the little (in the grand scheme of things) success we’ve had, do you think we would see the same level of support as the Skins?
That is all fine by meno idea what ey areth
I would love to get rid of the “fickle fans”. I hate them. I hate when I’m at the bar and people want to talk about why the Panthers suck and they have no idea what they are talking about.
This guy was trying to tell me a couple of weeks ago that this is all because we did not resign Peppers… So I told him to name me 3 guys on the OL’ and then turned my back to him. If someone is ever trying to tell you that they are a fan, ask them to name 3-5 OL. You will prove it to them real quick that they aren’t a fan.
So yeah anyway, I want rid of them. I would love for them to all go hop on some other teams bandwagon. I don’t want to deal with any of them ever again.

I thought that I would be laughing it up..
Listening to this guys rant. Instead, I found myself sympathizing with him. I mean, watching that game in its entirety embarrassed me for them. No team should ever get beaten that badly, that easily. Philly could have ran that score as high as they wanted to. I think the final was a gracious score for the Redskins. I can only imagine how this guy feels. I feel bad for him. The game was awesome, no doubt, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Vick perform miracles but, at the same time, no fan base should suffer through that. It goes so far beyond the Eagles just being that good. The Redskins should have been able to keep it, at least, respectable.
The Carolina Panthers are the best team in the NFL, except on Sundays.
I listen to this guy all the time on my way into northern VA,
Last year during one of their shows they were talking about the extent of their fanbase and he said something to the effect of “if you live in the carolinas, you should be Redskin fan” and scoffed when Lavar said “they have the Panthers, they’re pretty good”. Dukes just kind of scoffed again and made some more remarks but I don’t really remember. Needless to say I don’t like Dukes but it’s at least it’s NFL discussion.

I remember when Vick said he wanted to play with the Panthers
We were all disgusted at the idea, and now he’s arguably the best offensive player in the NFL. Oh Matt Moore, how you have failed us.

Knowing Philly, that’ll happen sooner rather than later. They and Vick are just this week’s story.

Its just a football game
This guy needs to chill out. Its only a football game. Thousands of people are out of jobs and you’re complaining about your 4 and 5 football team. Wow, your life must not be that bad if that’s all you have to complain about. I understand being upset over your team losing, but man, this game is absolutely ridiculous. What an idiot.
To be fair, sports is a lot of people's lives
Hell, it’s all I ever talk about. I’m NFL and NBA 95% of the time. It’s that guy’s job to talk about football, and more specifically, the Redskins.

That was funny as hell, I almost spit up my beer a few times...
that was the best rant. ever.

Yeah this sounds about right....
I lived in DC for five years, dated a girl from Northern VA for even longer. Being one of the only Panthers’ fan in a sea of burgundy and gold was intimidating at first..then fun..but these guys are extremely passionate about their team…to a level that will take a while for the Panthers to build up to with their legacy…
I think sadly I can’t even get angry anymore this season when we lose…cause I’m kind of expecting it. I guess the Skins fans are more angry because they had this glimmer of greatness again in the beginning of the season that just came crashing down on them….almost in the same fashion as the Delhome atrocity with the Cardinals did for us. My girlfriend said it was the first time she had ever been scared by me, because I was so angry after that game. I guess my point is..every team is gonna have these seasons…but it’s our decisions as fans to put our money and emotions and pride in the hands of our respective teams coaches, players and owners..no matter how old or young our team is. Here’s to a better 2011…
Now where's my REAL fans at?!
HOL-Y SH*T
That was a rant to end all rants. That was amazing.

How can a man scream that long, and not drop an F-bomb?
What restraint, in the midst of a tirade!
If he used to buy John Riggins jerseys, he had his day in the sun, though. Bet he was one of those obnoxious a-holes on the rail that used to wear Hawg snouts, and rub it in everybody else’s faces. It’s all cycles, baby – your turn in the barrel.
I thin his anger is not so much that they lost so badly in a meaningful game, but because of the idiocy of his owner (that’s the laughing stock), and the worm that Haynesworth plowed in the ground.
Starting off slow and measured as he did, it was a great and gradual descent to madness.
Thanks for letting us hear it.
As much as this season sucks for us
It’s been 20 years since the redskins went to the super bowl…we haven’t even existed for 20 and we’ve a)been to a super bowl b) been to three championship games c) made 4 playoff appearances…and at least we have a sense of direction! Being from DC, I can tell you my friends would all think I’m a bitch if I complained to them about this season, cause this is the type of madness they’ve endured for 18 out of the past 20 years (and especially so in the snyder era…all opinions of big cat aside, I’ll take him in a coma over danny boy as owner). Yea the ‘aints got a title, but my god it took them almost 40 years just to make the playoffs once! It’s all good panther faithful, we shall persevere!
E-mailed this to my mom
She said that her husband was yelling at her for saying similar things during the game.
"My Sports Blog":http://myfriendcorey.wordpress.com
Just did the math... in the last 18 years the Skins have been 120-160-1 with two playoff births
In 15 years Carolina have been 118-131 with four playoff births, three NFC Championship appearances and one Superbowl appearance.
I would be livid too.

Add in the fact that Snyder blows through millions of dollars on bad free agent signings...
Instead of building the team through quality drafting, it’s a wonder he hasn’t blown up the stadium yet.
He’s completely right to feel the way he does, and hopefully this rant will get through the thick skull of Snyder and make him realize that he is a major part of the reason that a once respected franchise is among the laughing-stocks of the NFL.

and ticket prices...
I’m kinda glad I’m used to seeing redskins prices on tickets….makes me feel good that for the price of nosebleeds at fed ex I can be on the lower deck at BofA stadium…..

Case in point -- this wonderful effort from the $100M man, Albert Haynesworth...

That play alone would be enough to drive me over the edge. Look at how gracefully he just quits on the play, laying there on the ground like a huge pile of failure. All I can say is thank God we don’t have him on our team. You can fault our guys for being young, inexperienced, and borderline talented, but one thing you can’t accuse our boys of is giving up when we’re down. Our team may suck right now, but dammit at least we fight ‘til the very end, unlike the league’s highest paid defensive player.
