Saints Survive Panthers 16-14; Clausen Just Misses First Win

This is what I was prepared to write:

What a great come from behind win for the Panthers. After trailing by 3 at the half the Panther defense stepped up and put up some stops and the offense was just good enough to get it done. What an incredible catch by Gettis on the 4th down play to save the game winning drive. Mr. Money John Kasay hits the winner yet again.

Oh well...our season of gloom continues but it was a good game. So close!!!

Here's my quick hits:

1st half

  • Was getting dissected until Martin caused Moore to fumble at the goal line
  • Ellis is killing Mac-Bern
  • Stewart scores on broken coverage pass and almost trips on his way to a TD
  • Anderson two fumble recoveries; one caused by martin, the other by Marshall
  • Anderson sacks Brees to end 2nd half

2nd Half

  • Jeff King amazing catch on a rebound
  • D-Will cut back for a TD was sweeet
  • Captain fumble but D stepped up; 3 pts only but it killed us
  • Conner and Marshall great plays on the ball down the field
  • Williams loss on a cut back at the end knocked us out of FG range...Lord that hurt

More analysis to come. What do you have to say Panther fans?
