Kalil was a second alternate when Pro Bowl voting concluded in December, but became a first alternate last week after Dallas' Andre Gurode pulled out because of an injury. New Orleans' Jonathan Goodwin took Gurode's spot, but he was ruled out of the Pro Bowl after his team won Sunday night's NFC Championship over the Minnesota Vikings.

Even though it's by default.... congrats to Kalil

He played really, really well this season and it’s nice to have a center we can rely on.

Zing!

Ya know what the funniest thing about that game was for me? I couldn’t decide which I wanted more: to see Reggie Bush fumble and fail because I hate him, or see Adrian Peterson do his best DeShaun Foster impression because I hate the hype that surrounds him, or see Favre throw the game away because of things like my wife saying he’s her favorite quarterback and then she turns around and asks questions like “are they allowed to just hit him like that?” and I have to say “yes, honey, he has the ball, so they’re allowed to tackle him, even though he’s forty.”

I really do hate Reggie Bush, though. He’ll make more from playoff bonuses in his rookie contract — because his team’s winning despite him — than Pierre Thomas (aka, The Starter) will make for the entire year, including the playoffs. Is that reason enough to want the Saints to lose? I think maybe it is.

Reason enough to want a rookie salary cap

College stats obviously mean nothing in the NFL yet players like JaMarcus Russell get rich from and it then do nothing in the NFL. Make them play under an initial 2 year scale then get paid based on their performance. You’d see better effort from them too I bet

It was classic though that Favre threw the game away

I said that at the beginning of the season…

It's funny too...

Where were those people complaining about his awful fundamentals when he was getting away with it to the tune of the #2 seed?

I wasn't saying anything about his fundamentals

yes, he’s won a SB but more often he has ended his team’s season by throwing key picks at the end of a playoff game. This is three times that I can think of now.

I wasn't saying you were.

But it’s amusing how results-oriented people’s evaluations are. If he’s making stupid throws and they happen to work, he’s a “fearless gunslinger.” And yet those same analysts are now suddenly trashing him for a throw he’s been making his whole career.

Reggie’s mind frame..

“If we win, we go to the Super Bowl! If we win the Super Bowl… Oh no, I said I’d propose the other night when I had too many drinks.. Oh man.. I’ve got it…… OOPS, I DROPPED THE BALL! JEEZ I HOPE U GUYS DON’T SCORE NOW………………………………………………………..3 POINTS? WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS?! DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS IF WE WIN THE SUPER BOWL?! Oh man, I’m screwed!……………………………………….Hi sweetie, I’m so glad we won, I can’t wait to win the Super Bowl for you!”

Congrats to Ryan

But I’m a little baffled as to how Goodwin was picked in front of him. Like the calls the refs made against the Vikings, just a bit questionable imo.
