Places to Eat in Town...
Hi Guys!
Looking forward to checking out your city this weekend. I am traveling down with my fiance, from Baltimore, but as an Eagles Fan. Looking forward to kicking off the season, and am glad its against another NFC contender. I come in peace, of course and hope we all share the same excitement this week.....
Anyways, I was hoping to ask you guys for help.
1. There is supposed to be a large Eagles following going to Whiskey Creek. Is that a nice place or a complete hole? My fiance looked online and "wasnt impressed."
2. I am staying at the Center City Courtyard Marriot. Can you reccommend a nice restaurant or 2 near there?
Thanks, and Good Luck! (Just not too much!)

Nice try... Eagles fans dont come in peace!
If you want a place to eat before the game uptown… Good luck. You’d better get there about 9am, because they will all be packed.
If you want a nice place to eat with your fiance, maybe for dinner, here are a few good options:
Expensive: Blue, Capital Grill, Ruth Chris’ Steakhouse, McCormick & Schmick’s
Moderate: Mimosa Grill, Brixx pizza, Unos Pizza, Soho Bistro, Ri-Ras Irish Pub
If you want something kind of fun, checkout the Epicentre. It has a movie theatre where there are dance floors and djs in the movie lobbies, and you can order real meals and alcoholic beverages and take them in the theatres.

If you want to get an authentic experience...
might I suggest Bubba’s barbeque? If you’ve never experienced Eastern NC BBQ then you’re in for a treat… but bbq is like music; Everyone has their favorite place so you might get some contention from others on who has the best BBQ in Charlotte. Plus, you can even get an extra rack of ribs and bring them to the game, you know, in case Donovan needs a replacement set (sorry, I couldn’t resist).
If you want to go a little more ‘fine dining’ I think Noble’s or Barrington’s have amazing food.

I can't believe none of you guys mentioned Sticky Fingers.
You know, the best buffalo wing place in town? I heard they’re opening up a store in heaven this year. Their food is THAT good.

Ri-Ra's had a fire...
I think they’re still closed. There is The Fox and The Hound too. pretty good food and moderate prices.
I think I remember this guy posting here before.........
Have fun at the game, sorry you will have to leave disappointed. ; )
Price's Chicken Coop
Best Fried Chicken anywhere… not far from your Hotel. The front desk will point you in the right direction… I hope you enjoy your stay (just not the final score of the game)

Ditto. Price’s Chicked Coop has been featured on Food TV network’s “Best Places to Eat” shows before. The outside may look old and run-down, but it’s been around forever and has a deserved reputation.
+1
How did I forget Price’s?
It’s been too long since I’ve been in Charlotte (other than Panthers games).

All great advice! I will try to get to several of this places, and will stop back over here next week to give my reviews!
I hope for a good game, but i think that i will be toasting buffalo wings and beers with my fiance after the game in celebration of my teams 1-0 start!

GreeninBaltimore,
The loss comes AFTER the win… AFTER
It’s okay though…. well forgive you. I’ll even take the liberty of rewriting the sentence for you:
I hope for a good game, but i think that i will be toasting buffalo wings and beers with my fiance after the game in celebration of my teams 0-1 start!

well thank you. i appreciate you helping me with that. I still think that i will be celebrating in your city AFTER an Eagles victory….but you can “fix” my record all you want!
If its any consolation, my fiance is stressed about our December wedding and PMS-ing like crazy.Eagles win or lose, i am still spending 72 straight hours with THAT! haha…

We Will Devour the Entrails of The INFIDELS!!
Eat well Eagles Fans, so that you will make an audible SQUISH when we crush you!
Bubba’s BBQ is pretty good.
And please tell your Left Tackle to lay on the ground so Julius Peppers can get his first ever sack on Donovan McNabb. He seems to struggle (or just go to sleep) with the Eagles.
Kind of like when Favre dove to the ground
to give Strahan his sack record for a season?

Pike's Old Fashioned Soda Shop!!!
I love this place. Great food… better than what you’d expect from a “Soda Shop”. Cool atmosphere. The milk shakes and floats are incredible! And it is right on the light rail. So you could park for free at a light rail station… ride it to Pikes… then get back on it and ride to the stadium.
