Returner Dexter Jackson hosted by Panthers
This is probably just the Panthers doing their due on a speedy guy, he has not impressed with the Bucs. He might sign onto the practice squad if the Panthers see potential in him, don't expect him to return kicks for us.

Personally I’d like to see him get signed because he’s a former Mountaineer and I’m a student at App State. I think he could add something to our return game and was hoping we’d take a look at him when Tampa cut him.

Intriguing...
I completely did not expect this and I find this very very very intriguing….
Dexter Jackson was a 2nd round pick last year and while he has not impressed so far with the Bucs, he is VERY young and he very well could turn around his career if he is in the right place at the right time…
Plusses about Jackson: he was a productive WR and KR in college (he also was one of the reasons App State beat Michigan as he had a 92 yard receiving game), he is also a very speedy guy and can get away from defenders, he is also very young and is probably still developing…also he could be very very cheap
Negatives: wasn’t productive at all with the Bucs, may not be able to transfer to the pro game, is small and has small hands, may not have great moves…
OVERALL: he is a very young guy, and while he hasn’t grown into his potential, he has lots of it. Also he could be another competitor for our KR/PR position and could even grow into a WR in a few years. The reality is that he is a major project, but an intriguing and talented project nonetheless…

Eh...
Put him on the practice squad. See what he’s got by evaluating him on the practice field. Keep him around as insurance while we make a decision on Mark Jones (i.e., whether he can pass a physical) and see how Captain Munnerlyn or Kenny Moore do in a live game. And then, either keep Jackson or cut him depending on which direction we need to go.
But that’s just my two-cents,

Good Plan Nspicer !!
Hey that is a great idea Spicer; we could always place him on the PS; however I think we will wait until after Week 1 to make anymore moves !! I mean it is already or almost Thursday and we have the Eagles flying in shortly. So with that being said I still like the idea of bringing in D. Jackson but I would still have someone like M. Jones who is not a homerun hitter but consistent.
Either way after week 1 the Panthers will be upgrading the position !!
Good post though guys.
Go Panthers and lets deep fry some bird this Sunday !!!

Apparently...
…they passed on Dexter Jackson and signed another WR to the practice squad. Mark Jones definitely won’t be signed until later in the season…if then. Meanwhile, we’re set for the Week 1 now. The roster’s full. And we’ll be going with Kenny Moore (and maybe Captain Munnerlyn if he gets activated) as PR. And, of course, I suspect we’ll see Mike Goodson as the KR all year long.
