CSR Week 3 Sunday Day Games Open Thread
If you are like me you will still watch a little football today in spite of the Panthers playing on Monday Night. I'm not even sure which games I have available at this point but I think I will check out Direct TV's Red Zone channel. I watched it a little last week and it was interesting as switch around to the different games as teams move into the red zone.
So of course while we are watching these games we can also talk a little Panthers football. Every week may be big as John Fox loves to say but this week brings special meaning. No teams wants to go 0-3 into its bye week and no team wants to lose on the big stage of Monday Night. To me its big because a loss could be a big blow to our confidence and potentially put us three games behind our division rivals. That's a big hole to start a season.
So as you watch the Sunday 1pm and 4pm EST games CSR readers what comes to mind? Who are your surprise teams in the NFC and AFC? I'm liking the Jets and that defense led by Rex Ryan. If Sanchez can play better than a rookie they have a shot. I also like the Ravens as their 2nd QB Flacco is looking more comfortable.
In the NFC the 49ers have the benefit of an easy division and could be this years team to benefit from that and a weak division. I don't see them SB worthy as I'm still liking the Giants for that (unless the Panthers turn things around).
What is on your mind Panther fans? This is now an Open Thread.

I’m kinda skeptical of the Ravens right now. Their offense is much improved from last year(mostly because of Flacco improving), but their defense has been horrid. Have you seen the point totals they’ve been giving up thus far?
Also, I’m really weirded out watching the New England/Atlanta game. I hate both teams, yet I find myself hoping the Patriots win simply so Atlanta doesn’t have a 3-0 lead in the division.
I'm with ya
As hate the Patriots and really want them to lose every game but I can’t have the Falcons win either. So I’m hoping both look terrible with Pats winning it in the end

I was rooting for both teams to suffer injuries.
Remember when the Panthers had a good offensive line? Yeah, me too.

I am in awe of Mark Sanchez
Who would have thought he was going to look like a probowl QB his rookie season?

All he's doing is managing the game.
His 6.4 YPA in the last two weeks is not exactly lighting the world on fire. With the backs and the line they’ve got, he’s not having to do it all himself, which is a situation any QB would envy.

First 3-0 rookie QB since the merger.
He also has a better rating that Jay Cutler and Phillip Rivers. Yeah, he’s managing the game… but doing so with great poise. That 14 yard run wasn’t merely ‘managing the game’ he’s a playmaker.

Skins down 0-13 to the Lions
But never underestimate the Lions ability to blow a lead

Yeah, especially since it’s now 13-7 Lions.
It’s the Minnesota game all over again, I bet.

Yeah, they should draft exclusively to defense next draft
The defense might be the worst all time. Could they lose 32 straight games?

They won....
But I don’t care. Jason Campbell put up 29 points anyway against a horrible defense. Why do I care? I’m starting him on my ESPN Fantasy league.
Barring a miracle, both of my teams in both leagues have picked up their first win! My team is looking up. Lynch comes off his suspension next week, and he’s going to be a tremendous player in the fleaflicker league. Hopefully, just like the Panthers I will rise up and claim this league for my own! Mwahahaha!

Falcons down by 9 with 10 min left
and just had to punt. Not looking good for them. Now we just need the Bills to beat the Saints

Now down by 16.
New England’s doing what you need to do against Atlanta to win. Get a lead, then extend it.
On a sidenote, Atlanta’s secondary is really horrible. If Galloway hadn’t dropped all those passes the score would’ve been even more lopsided.

How is it that NO's played such awful teams this season?

Yeah, we could still beat the Saints twice....right?

Anybody else watch the SNF game?
Kurt Warner looks a lot like “Bad Jake” (the only QB ever to have a poor game ever) when he doesn’t get any protection himself. I can only imagine the Arizona fans will be calling for Matt Leinart.

Strange how the Colt defense can get pressure from a 4-3
Not sure if they are still running a Cover 2 but their defense is so much more fun to watch than ours

True, Larry Coyer is a solid co-ordinator.
He was the architect of the defense for the Broncos under Mike Shanahan. along with Shanahan he was a victim of them feeling like they needed to shake things up.
The Colts got a solid pickup.
I can put the optimist’s spin on it and say maybe he’s so successful because he got to inherit Meeks’ players.

Hey, when ALL of your DLs are working hard every game, it's a lot easier than when it's only 75%.
