OK! We've bashed Jake, we've pronounced the season a disaster after only the 1st game, OK.
Is there anyone who wants to talk about the positives (as few as there may seem to be)?
For example I really liked what I saw out of the Captain. He played remarkably well for his first NFL game. (remember he was a 7th rounder) You may not want him here, but give Pep his due. He played a great game for 4 quarters. How about Thomas Davis? You had to like what u saw in him. The DT position all though not great, wasn't the swiss cheese many were expecting. It will get better as the season progresses. I have high hopes for Leonard and Sunny Harris. Jon B's knee will be stronger this week and as we go along.
On offense, we still have D-Will and J-Stew looked pretty healthy to me. Steve Smith IS still Steve Smith and don't you just have a feeling that Kenny Moore is going to raise his game to another level? I also see great potential in all 3 tight ends.
As a side note. Many 'fans' are getting on Hurney for trading away next years first round pick. I admit it's a gamble but if Everette Brown lives up to the hype (I'd say 6-10 sacks) and Mike Goodson continues to be the 4th round diamond, he appears to be (sans fumbles of course), then we will have plenty of value for that first round pick. I admit these are BIG ifs but every single draft pick is. After all, like I said the Captain is looking a lot better than a 7th rounder.
It may look like it, but the sky is not falling-yet. If Jake can get his play up to decent, we have a chance to win the division. Keep your heads up Panther fans!!!
