Panthers End Panther Long Snapper Competition Early
Darin Gantt tweeted that the Panthers have cut rookie UDFA long snapper Nick Sundberg essentially crowning JJ Jansen as winner of the starting spot.
daringanttNo more snapper competition for #Panthers. They cut rookie Nick Sundberg, leaving J.J. Jansen as the last man standing.
It was obvious the job was Jansen's to lose given the Panthers gave up a 7th rounder for him. Yet for Sundberg to be cut so quickly must indicate he failed to impress in his short time. Congrats J3! Let's hope you go unnoticed this season.
Thoughts anyone?

Works for me
Ending it early gives Jansen the opportunity to be the guy and take all the snaps in every practice.

Hurrah.
And here it is guys! The final play in Super Bowl 44. The rematch of the century. Carolina and New England has played a hard game. Carolina had fought to the 20 yard line and now they’re a field goal kick away from winning their first Super Bowl title. Time is winding down. Here’s the s…the ball goes over the kickers head FUMBLE!
Recovered by the defense! It’s a miracle! The Patriots have won four Super Bowls this decade! J.J. Jansen has screwed up the biggest snap of his life!
I jest of course, but I would really have loved Kyle back.

Easy man, alot of Football to be played in preseason let alone regular season to actually make such a prediction. Have a little faith, I men this kid did wrap up the job last year until he blew out his knee near the end of camp, and we all knew that he had the job b/c the panthers agree that if he stayed on their active roster they would have to give up their 7th round pick in this years draft.
Just relax if he stinks it up to bad, we can always find a new one, also whose to say Jason Kyle is even going to make the Saints they could always go with a cheaper, younger opition the same as we did.

The Saints will keep Kyle.
They already had a “cheaper, younger” option on the roster in Kevin Houser, and he hadn’t even had any performance issues.

I just can't go there..
what an infamous play that would be. Similar to the Romo fumble eh?

It would be exponentially worse, given the situation.
No matter what team, that would easily be the most infamous in league history.

The team actually didn't "give up a pick" for Jansen.
Had he not won the job, they would have owed nothing.
