Who do you see the Panthers picking up to replace Kemoeatu
Jason La Canfora, NFL Network
You can't find guys like that on the street, that's the problem. There aren't too many 330 pounders who can play. They have been scouting Green Bay closely and were very interested in Dusty Dvoracek from Chicago before he was lost for the season, again. If Casey Hamton hit the market he would be of interest for sure, I imagine, but would they want to give him a big ticket extension at age 31? They have been actively looking for sure. Better tighten up that run defense.
IMO, signing Casey Hampton would be a no-brainer, and if we can trade for him, I think we should. Of course, I don't know if he'll be cut, or if we can even afford him. But with him in the mix, we'd be instantly tougher against the run, and we need that facing Brandon Jacobs, Clinton Portis, Marion Barber, Brian Westbrook, Michael Turner twice, Derrick Ward/Cadillac twice, and Pierre Thomas twice (not so bad, but he's the best RB on the Saints).

my thoughts
My thoughts begin with IMO. Everything before that line is from NFL.com.

IF Casey Hampton hit the market???
Why in the world would Casey Hampton hit the market? He was in the 2008 Pro Bowl. And how could a four-time Pro Bowl NT clear waivers, or at least make it down to us? Never happen. Never ever happen.
Now, I suppose we could trade for him, but still… why aren’t the Steelers taking advantage of him if he’s still got anything at all in the tank?
IF he’s available, that makes complete sense for us. But I would be shocked if he were.

He's their starting NG right?
Ummm…if he were available wouldn’t we know that already? Doesn’t seem likely at all. Where does this guy get his info?

You know...
…we have pulled off a trade “for need” with the Bears before to acquire Chris Harris. I wonder if they’d be open to a trade offer for Casey? Marty better pick up the phone and at least ask about him.

Hampton plays for the Steelers
and will be looking for a LT big salary. I think we can ignore that rumor, its too good to be true.

rumors
La Canfora’s rumor mill says a move to get rid of him is likely, and my guess is that it’s a move similar to when we got rid of Jenkins…and we’re still missing him in the middle. but i agree, i don’t think it makes a lot of sense to move a guy like that out of your organization unless he is having some contract issues we don’t know about.

Isn't La Canfora the nerd that took the other nerds place on NFLN?
I thought Schefner was a dweeb… But man if they didn’t replace him with and even dweebier guy. I guess every sports network needs a brainy looking guy, to compensate for all the 250lb block-head analysts.
And please NFLN… the suave-Latin lastname doesn’t fool us. We know he majored in Chemistry not flamenco.
