DeAngelo Hurts His Knee
DeAngelo has now missed practice b/c of an injured knee. Of course Fox has not given much info on the subject. In the link provided, Charles Chandler says that Fox did not say how the knee was hurt, how severe of an injury it was, or if D-Lo will play against the Ravens. I am guessing that this is just an excuse to keep him out against a tough, physical, defense when the game does not really matter. This is pure speculation on my part, and honestly a bit of hopefulness. I would not mind if D-Lo was held out this game even if he was healthy. There is no reason to play him, IMO, as he has looked tip top. Any other opinions?

Yeah I completely agree !!
I believe this is nothing more than be “safe than sorry” plus his knee is fine he did a session with strength and conditioning coach in place of Wednesday’s practice. If your knee is really hurt that bad you would be streching, jumping and riding bikes, you would have been like KEMO and been on the sidelines doing nothing. I have no problem holding out all of our starters; it is dumb to get them hurt in a game that means nothing in the standings !!!

I'd feel better about it if J-Stew was playing
Goodson will again get a lot of work

+1
Stew is starting to worry me. I could not care less if he played a preseason game or not, but I want him practicing.

I'm just anxious to see him play again
I miss the straight arm to grill followed by an insulting body slam to the turf!

D-Will can sit the rest of the preseason in my view
Hopefully Stewart will get on the field before the preseason is finished

Hmmm...
Didn’t they do something like that in previous years? Basically, they held a guy out to help him heal a nagging injury through the first 3 preseason games. And then, in the last one, they brought him out for a couple of series just to help him get in better game shape? Maybe that’s what they’re doing for Stewart? His injury to the Achilles is supposed to be from overcompensating for the toe problem that required surgery back when we drafted him. And he played through some of that pain during last year. I suspect he could do the same this year, but the Panthers are just trying to maximize his recovery time. Of course, if he gets out there and tries to give it a go but pulls a Kemo and goes down in the first 30 minutes because his Achilles tightens up and snaps, we’ll all be worrying over how they rushed him back.
So who knows really?

Fox usually requires a player to complete a practice in order to play
The start of the season may prove a different circumstance maybe. I would want to see him take a few hits in practice before putting him in a game. Lets see if he practices finally in the coming week.
