Madden '10 ratings are garbage
Did anyone else see the ratings for Madden '10. I think they came out a while ago, so maybe i'm pretty late, but i'm offended. Let me give you some examples..
We have discussed our RBs on here at length, and most agree, based on highlights and official 40 times, that J-Stew is faster than D-Will, but J-STew got an 88 for speed and D-Will got a 95. That's garbage. Brayton, C.Johnson, Connor, Diggs, Rosario, Barnidge and Jarrett all got ratings below 70. And Moose got a 75 for speed. He's no burner, but 75 is ridiculous. Hilee Taylor got an 82. Is he really faster than Moose? Either way, amidst all my protest, I'll be getting my copy on Friday.

The ratings are positional, not overall.
The completely revamped the ratings systems, both positionally and ‘player type’.
I.e You can’t compare DeAngelo Williams’ and Jonathan Stewart’s speeds because Stewart is a ‘power back’ and DeAngelo is a ‘finesse back’.
Alternatively, theoretically if Pep has 92 speed and Steve Smith has 92 speed, Smith will be faster because WR speed is faster than DE speed. It adds more nuances than across the board ratings.
So, don’t fear!
I know we already talked about this, but I would not call DeAngelo a "finesse" back.

I wouldn't either... I think he's the complete package...
but the Madden gods at EA think otherwise.

He's certainly less of an inside runner than Stewart is.

Well it would be hard to be better
Williams isn’t as good as Stewart inside, but he’s no slouch himself. He’s good enough to take away goalline carries from Stewart.
BTW welcome back MP.

Fixed:
He’s was good healthy enough to take away goal line carries.

i would despute that
i saw a statistic that said he gets the majority of his yards between the tackles

That doesn't mean he's as good.
Stewart has similar stats. Those raw numbers are more about playcalling than anything else.

Alright MP, let me rephrase
Stewart is punishing between the tackles, we agree on that, correct? Now that I’ve made it clear I’m not knocking Stewie’s inside ability, I have seen places where they quote GM’s, scouts, etc, and they say Williams isn’t just a slasher, they say he has a power gear too. Now I am not saying it’s better than Stewarts, or even close. I’m saying Williams can hit you hard, and run around you, he just prefers to go around. It’s not a difference in ability, although D-Will is better than Stewie right now. It’s a difference in style.
