Dan Morgan Retires Again
Seems like this is the end for Dan Morgan's career this time. In spite of being unable to stay healthy for a 16 game schedule, Dan Morgan will be remembered as one of the best linebackers in the league when he's on the field.
He cited time with his family and dedication to his restaurant business as reasons to retire, along with health concerns.

Danget Procton, you're a natural critic. Lol.
Fixed though

Not again!
Thank goodness we weren’t counting on him for our squad. This loss could affect the Saints’ defense among their LB corps, though. So that’s actually good news for us. But still…bad news for Morgan. He’s got to be the most snake-bit player in history. You don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

I don't think they were really counting on him...
At best, he was probably their fifth-best LB.

I wouldn't go that far.
If healthy, he would have probably been a starter. I can’t imagine Dan Morgan joining a team and riding the bench the whole season.

They weren't counting on him
…which is what their GM Mickey Loomis stated, but he also said they were getting excited about the way he was looking during their OTAs and minicamp.
“Asked if Morgan’s abrupt departure is a loss to the team, Loomis replied: "I wouldn’t call it a loss. A loss is when you plan to have to have something in place and it doesn’t happen. That’s a loss. Our thinking all along was that if he could come back and play at anywhere close to the level that he had played like in the past, that would be a bonus. It would have been a bonus if he had been able to recapture his past.
“But we don’t have any financial investment in him. We’re not out anything, we just didn’t gain anything. Are we disappointed? Yeah, a little because he had been doing really well in the offseason program, OTAs and minicamp before getting injured. So, we were just getting excited about him and then he decided not to play. So in that respect, it’s a little disappointing.” "

Here's my original 'Ode to Dan Morgan' somewhat
I was thinking I had written a separate post on it but it looks like it was simply contained in this post.

What team
did he claim as his retirement team. Seems he should have retired as a Panther, since he truly was a Panther his whole career. Would be a shame for him to retire in any other uniform. He could have been signed for 1 day again, so he could retire in the proper colors. Many other athletes have done the same at the end of their careers. Just MHO.
Geaux Panthers !!!

Unlike lots of arrogant douchebags...
He didn’t have some grand press conference where he demanded to be showered in praises. Just checked out. I thought the Stephen Davis “retirement as a Panther” was among the most ridiculous things I’ve seen. A guy who played seven years of an eleven-year career and went to two Pro Bowls as a Redskin decides he wants to stick it to them and we let him do it.

I agree........
about Stephen Davis. He was a Redskin who just finished off his career with the Panthers. Morgan; on the other hand, never played a down for another team. There IS a slight difference. As long as it isn’t a farce, I’d still like to see Morgan retire as a Panther………I believe he’s earned that right.

I'm not saying he hasn't...
Just that making a big deal out of it in the first place is unnecessary.

I do not agree COMPLETELY on the Stephen Davis point.
First, let me say that I neither know all the facts about him leaving the Skins, nor do I have the time to research/google them.
I am assuming that Davis and the Skins parted ways on “not the best of terms”. Then combine that with the fact that he was a huge part of our best season in history, albeit a short one, AND the fact that we stuck by him at the end by not cutting him and letting him vulture some TD’s before he totally gave out. Also, isn’t he from SC? Huh, sounds like some good reasons to me.
