Ron Meeks: How He Can Bring the Panthers a Super Bowl
Ron Meeks, a guy who has seen how good it can get in this league. I hope he can be the coach that will help turn a defense that was slow to the ball into a defense that will scare the ballcarrier. Though OTA's I have had only positive remarks about coack Meeks.I now belive he can change the way Carolina looks at the game.Mike Trogvac didn't have the swagger Ron brings in. Ron Meeks served as a DC for the Colts for numerous winning seasons. I know a lot of fans will say he would not have done so well without Peyton Manning, but Peyton wouldn't have done so well without Ron Meeks. In fact the year the Colts won the superbowl it was the defense that won them the trophy. If you remember correctly in the superbowl peyton won the mvp,but I belive Bob Sanders should have won the MVP. What I love most about Ron Meeks is that he wants the defense to have speed. He has not had the talent ever in his career like he does now. Everette Brown will now be an Pro Bowler because of Ron Meeks talent to be able to turn small fast guys into fast QB bitizing freaks. The energy Ron brings to the table is out of this world. Now if our defense can be one of the tops in the league with our offence scoring 30 points a game we could really take a look at the superbowl.

Bro, if you're going to make fanposts...
Do us a favor and at least think about editing them. I see at least six errors just in the titles of your last two posts.
Further, the premise of this post is a little weak. First, you’d never expect players to trash a newly-hired coordinator. Second, the Panthers have valued smaller, faster players long before Meeks’ arrival, particularly in the back seven. Our LB trio has been one of the fastest in the league since Beason came on board.
Finally, what offense that scores 30 points a game (which would rank consistently in the top three of the whole league over the last 10 years) and has a “top defense” wouldn’t “take a look at the superbowl (sic)?”
Remember, kids...don't ever let facts get in the way of your argument.
I expect a top half defense
and a Super Bowl, but no top five. Honestly we have no clue what our D will look like until the preseason, lets save the top 5 predictions till then.

Mr.MichaelProcton:the fake sportswriter
Let me thank you first for making me a better blogger just never did this sort of thing before. Now I will bash you what errors are in my titles NONE one is a question the other is how Meeks will win us a superbowl now beat you on that me smart 1 you dumb 1.Next you said that I said the players were going to trash Coach Meeks never said or implied that me smart 1 you dumb 1.Then you implied that I said because of Meeks we will get faster players,I know my team we have a good set-up for Coach Meeks why do you think i said we will win the superbowl, but we was slow to the ball last year and thats what I said and if you did your homework you would know that last year through 16 games we gave up 20.3 points a game you give up that many points hate to say it but you slow to the ball me smart 1 you dumb 1.Last but least you crictisize me about me saying 30 points and top defence would be a superbowl and yes that is outrageous, but I’m a fan not A sportswriter I can write about hopes and dreams but if you take the viking and the first bucs game away we put up an average of 27.4 points on the board thats a fieldgoal away from doing it not so far fetch is it Mr.MichaelDumbton me smart 1 you dumb 1.
Dude...
…just an idle question. But how old are you? I don’t want to quash your enthusiasm for posting by bashing on your grammar. That’s essentially what Procton is pointing out. And he’s mostly correct…just not very gentle in how he’s pointed it out for you.
Bottom line: Your enthusiasm is great. Your points are valid commentary from a fan like any other. They’re just a little hard to read.
OK, since you asked...
1. Carolina is a proper noun, and, as such, it should be capitalized.
2, 3, 4. The proper spelling and capitalization of the former Atlanta QB’s name is Michael Vick.
5, 6, 7. The proper capitalization and spacing of the NFL’s championship game is the Super Bowl.

This is a tough one to comment on
without being condescending. I try not to indulge my instinctual urges to correct people’s grammar because A) I make mistakes too, and B) content and ideas are vastly more important than the method of delivery.
So while I don’t find any value in arguing alongside MP that capitalization matters (it doesn’t), I will say that having just the basics of capitalization, punctuation and spelling covered gives you some credibility that you can at least string together coherent thoughts, and your ideas should be taken seriously. So if you’d said “Our defense was slow to the ball last year, giving up 20.3 points per game, and Meeks’ increased emphasis on speed to the ball will help improve our scoring defense this season,” then you would have a series of people arguing for or against that salient point. But instead, we’re talking about how you don’t separate your sentences with spaces, and we can’t really figure out what you’re saying.
So, put simply, if you put 10 minutes into writing a post in order to get your ideas out there, elicit some feedback and generate discussion, why not put in 11 minutes instead and make sure what you’ve written is comprehensible?
Also, none of us are fans of personal attacks on this blog. Name-calling and the like have historically not been tolerated by Jaxon, and I’d expect that he’d take some offense to the tone of this latest comment.
Like NSpice said, your enthusiasm is great, and I expect your actual football-related ideas will be a welcome addition to the blog. But you should think about editing your posts a bit more, and sheathing the daggers in your response to comments.

T-Rock
Please make your points without the name calling. MP has never claimed to be a sportswriter (none of us have for that matter) but he makes well thought out and clear points using proper grammer as much as possible. When you use bad grammer or ‘text’ language as I call it it makes it harder to understand what you are saying, that was his only point. Calling people ‘dumb’ is counter-productive and will NOT stand for long on this blog. Please stop the name-calling, double check your work and PLEASE use the spell checker built into the software. Let me remind you of the community guidelines you agreed to when joining this blog:
This blog is intended for a community of NFL football fans with obvious leanings to the Carolina Panthers. Please refrain from excessive profanity and hate-speak to other members. Also, lets stay on topic and avoid threads related to non-sport issues, in particular politics and religion. It is also common courtesy when referencing other peoples work to provide a link. Anyone who cannot follow these simple rules may or may not be given a warning before being banned.

As everyone has said
people take you seriously if we can tell what you wrote. Procton can be a bit of a boor, but we are all friends here, and Procton usually has very insightful comments. The blog would lose a lot if he wasn’t here.
My apology
Let me start off by saying I apologize to Mr.Michael Procton .I was angry I thought you were trying to make my points dumb and I was very childish to respond to your comment in the fashion I did.I try to be proper and most of the time I’m not.Mr.Michael Procton I knew who you were before this incident. Before I made any fanposts I read fanposts and yours were very good I called you A fake sportswriter when you probably are A sportswriter if not you could be.I am not going to make A bunch of excuses for my grammar ,but I will make A few.First I have not used grammar or even wrote A letter since 8th grade(didn’t go to high school had to go to work with my dad)and now I’m 26.Second I don’t have alot of time to proofread.I don’t have internet at the house.I have to blog on my lunchbreak which I can take at anytime during the day,but it’s only 30 minutes.I get my food, get to the computer, have to put lunchbox back in locker, than get back to work. When it’s all said & done my time on the internet is about 10-12 minutes .With that said, since I became A cat scratch reader these 10-12 minutes each day are the best minutes of the day. It’s brothering me so bad to think I could get kick off this blog, you all will never hear me be that hateful again.I am A huge panthers fan it’s all I really know and sometimes I get to emotional about it.I don’t have alot of football friends and I will try harder to make my fanposts more proper.I like to finish by thanking Nspicer,r3,Jaxon,and Flowing Willow for setting me straight.I’d like to be friends with everone here and if anyone has any ideas that will make me A better blogger please do so.Thank you all again and Mr.Michael Procton I don’t want to be your enemy I am truly sorry.
wow
when a football blog just gets “too personal”
guess I should commend you for your apology, I’m sure that took a lot.
You guys are highly entertaining over here, at least stuff like this keeps the offseason from getting too boring, doesn’t it?
know what you believe in and why you believe in it
lol, 'highly entertaining'?
I’ll take that. Hopefully its the good entertainment, not the train-wreck type! Just wait until the preseasons starts and get on a game thread…now that is entertainment!

I appreciate the apology and I'm glad we've cleared this up
Our comments are intended simply to help you get your point across. We want to hear what everyone has to say and don’t expect perfect grammer as we all have misspellings, etc…fat fingers on a tiny keyboard. Its when we can’t understand what you are trying to say is when readers get frustrated.
Thanks again and as always…Go Panthers!

:)
I was never intending to be mean…the “bro” in the original post was a friendly aside, rather than a demeaning thing. Just hoped if you had thoughts to contribute you could try your best to make them as accessible to all as possible. One futher point that would help: a space (or even two) after your periods to separate sentences. :)

If grammar comes in the way of people understanding you...
Yeah, it can.
